Azuma Class 800 Traction Manual

I don’t have one myself but wouldn’t driver instructors at your depot be able to help?

If they don’t have a manual per see then I’m sure they be able to explain a few things to you prior to learning them.

Surely your TOC can give you a copy if you ask?

Unfortunately my TOC doesn't have them yet, but we will be getting these units in the near future. I was hoping that maybe someone could send me the manual in order to learn prior to the traction course. Always nice to get the heads up.

But only two TOC's will operate the Class 800 and both already have them. Unless you mean the Class 802?

Hence I asked what TOC he worked for - just another fantasist in his own world.

Would have better luck just saying he wants a manual for his own interest.

Not that I want to get dragged into a childish comments and replies here, however, it is not just GWR & LNER drivers who sign for the ‘Azuma’ family of units. My cousin is passed to drive them and he works for Northern Railways. So before you go down the road of childish one up-man ship, best make sure you know your railway knowledge.

Surely such documents are only issued on a controlled basis and then only those that require them. Does strike me as a peculiar request.

Northern don’t operate Class 800’s so i would double check who your cousin works for.

You talk about railway knowledge, your cousin will work for Arriva Rail North aka just Northern.
I take it he’s an MDD at Heaton??they might move them on shed,there won’t be any mainline drivers at Northern trained on a traction that the TOC will never get.
As echoed above, current traction manuals are controlled documents and not for public consumption, not sending to a stranger on an Internet forum.

Your cousin may shunt them on and off the depot but he certainly doesn’t drive them if he works for northern.

Also “Azuma” is a brand name given to LNER class 8xx’s, it doesn’t apply to other TOC’s.

So please, before you post these bold claims, best to make sure you know your railway knowledge.

I have one but not an Azuma one. I don’t understand why you need one though. If you’re going to be learning them soon you’ll surely be given everything required when you begin a traction course.

Traction manuals as previously mentioned are controlled documents, the relevant individuals will be issued with one at the appropriate time.

If the OP is now working for EMR, based on one his posts months ago asking for competency based interview advice back in May, they are a long way off getting there Hitachi sets, plus aren’t they meant to be different I.e shorter coaches so surely the manuals will be completely different?
