Does anyone else dislike the new ScotRail station announcer?

First time here in several years! I've only just rediscovered my love of trains this summer after 7 years of commuting between Coatbridge and Glasgow which diminished this passion a bit.

The same announcer has been doing announcements at the stations for as long as I can remember at the stations around Glasgow. Since some time in July, I've noticed that the announcer used at Haymarket has been rolled out to some of the stations on the outskirts of Glasgow (such as all of the Coatbridge stations). The old announcer remained at Queen Street Low Level and Argyle Street until last week, however, I've visited both stations since the weekend and the new announcer has been installed.

Ordinarily, it's not a huge problem, but her voice is so monotone and robotic. It feels a bit eerie in some stations and I feel that she is too fast in listing the stations. Volume wise, she's OK at quiet stations such as Coatbridge Central but is inaudible at Queen Street Low Level. I tweeted ScotRail to fix this after I visited on Saturday but returned today and it was no better.

I don't know who thought it was a good idea - it's like having Sonya all over again.(
)

People from the Glasgow/Strathclyde area, what are your thoughts on this new announcer?

Last time i was at Haymarket they were doing manual announcements . At Falkirk Grahamston it was usual lady , unless they are similar .
Once at Queen St they had the same lady on the 385s with auto announcements but not heard since .

When were auto announcers first used in Scotland , wasnt that long ago ?

At least 10 years, probably more. Definitely remember the auto announcements on the low level the first time I used it, which would be about 9/10 years ago.

I think High Level got auto announcements in 2009 . Not sure about Queen St . Do East Kilbride line stations have auto announcers?

Did 170s have on board announcements since new?

ScotRail 170s has announcements from new, you can see/hear them in a demonstration video on YouTube of them as new.

Can't speak for all, but certainly at least 5 EK line stations have auto announcements that I know of.
