I have been more and more frustrated as I read about the more and more onerous conditions that HIT Entertainment put on the Heritage railways that run Thomas and Friends events. As I understand it HIT entertainment are the rights holder to Thomas the Tank Engine since Rev Awdry`s family sold out to them, sold out in more than one sense of the word.....
Some Heritage lines are even pulling out of Thomas events altogether, and even those that aren`t are making less and less out of them.
Rev Awdry was a railway enthusiast and I`m sure he`d want to be helping the railways as much as possible. I can`t help thinking he`s spinning in his grave like a proverbial gyroscope over the whole thing. I wonder whether his family, who sold the rights to HIT, feel any guilt over it ?
