I am a bit confused here.
I don’t have any ict qualifications but I am in the talent pool. I have never said I did have a qualification in ict. Do I need to gain one before a possible job offer or are those that don’t have it put through a course/qualification?

It's been a while since I last posted here. I failed my stage 2 in January (the grey square test) so have been waiting out my 6 months so I could retake it.

Did that on Monday, passed it, but found out today that I failed the MMI so it's game over completely for me. I'm surprisingly not bitter or upset about it, perhaps because I started this whole thing almost 2 years ago when I applied on a whim and I didn't expect to get past the application stage let alone get to the very end of the whole process nearly 2 years later! I feel like I've been on a journey, I've learnt things, my eyes have been opened about the rail industry, and I feel pretty chuffed and proud of myself to have got this far at all.

Just wanted to wish you all luck in your quest (and to those already driving, keep up the good work!).

I think we are best placed to wait for instruction from EMT to be honest. I would imagine that anyone that needs to be put through an ict course is known to them and provisions will be made to cover this, maybe a week prior to starting the training or something?
Only speculation obviously but I have provided my gcse certificates on two occasions and made them aware that I have no ict qualification.

I think if you fail stage 1 you have to completely apply again and if you fail stage 2 you can wait six months, although you should email HR for confirmation.

I think you have to wait for a job to come up but to be sure perhaps contact the company.

Course starting late Sept will be passing out in Jan. Suspicion is there will be another course straight after so expect the calls for that to be going out soon. Nightmere scenario for you would be the other rumour that's doing the rounds that the accademy will be chok full of Northamptonshire trainee drivers from Jan and if you didn't make the Sept course then you face a long wait.

Thankyou, I have been in touch before but as your probably aware they don’t give you much information as in don’t release where you may be in the pool or how many courses there are. I would like to confirm if I’m actually still showing in the talent pool though so maybe I will give it another go.

Thankyou for your response, the 4 weekly pay is good to know. I understand there are differences in the pay, was hoping for an approximate figure but I will have a look for the calculators - cheers again.
I’m not sure about the Jan course but there are different factors taken into account as to whether you get a course and when. It depends on your score, time in the pool amongst others. Perhaps best to email East Mids.
