Hello everyone,

This may be of interest to some people on the forum. We are having our now annual 'diesel gala' again on March 14th, 1pm-5pm.

Details are on the poster, or on www.abbeylightrailway.webs.com However any questions please don't hesitate to ask. We're also taking requests for double header combinations!

Glad the event went well, unfortunately as it clashed with Mother's Day, I couldn't make it this year, may attend in October depending on weather/diary.

Its ok, hopefully the Gogo tractor will work next time.

Thanks also to the members of this forum that came over from Carlisle especially!

A great afternoon was had: thanks for posting the info about the gala on here.
The only small downer was the Gogo tractor defying all efforts to get it running.

As is apparent from my avatar, I can't resist two-foot gauge industrials :)

Yes, unfortunately the Gogo let us down, but as you saw we were working hard to try and make it work. Unfortunately t'was not to be that day :(

Otherwise, glad you enjoyed it. :D

The Mothers' Day clash did for my intentions to turn up as well :( I was going to bring my two lads, but ended up having to take the wife out instead. Sadly, she's not interested in diesels of any description, so any suggestion of combining the two would have been met with a swift punch on the nose!

Haha, Yes the clash with Mothers day perhaps made a difference to our takings, On the other hand there were more families with mothers walking around the Abbey, so maybe not.
