Help on train fares

Hello

I am looking for help on a train ticket issue

I have an uncle who lives in Brighton

I am staying with him form March 20th - April 6th

I need to be in London ( Kensington area / Earls Court ) each day for appx 8.30 am and then leave each evening probably afetr 6.pm and get back to Brighton


I am finding it very difficult to see how much the train tickets may cost for this and also finding it hard to find out what may be the best / cheapest option for me

Can anybody help - would be greatly appreciated

You'll probably need to consider getting some sort of season ticket for that journey, which are available for (consecutive) periods of 7 days, or any period between 1 month and 1 year.

A 7-day travelcard, Brighton to Zones 2-6, would cost you £77-40 (undiscounted), and you could get to Earls Court / Kensington Olympia by changing at Clapham Junction. Such a travelcard would also, I believe, be valid on buses within travelcard Zone 1, but not rail/tube services.

However, if you need to use the rail/London Underground within travelcard Zone 1, then you will probably need a Brighton-London All Zones travelcard, which for 7 days is £99-90 (undiscounted).

As the dates you mention are for just over a fortnight, the cheapest option may possibly involve buying at least a couple of 7 day tickets.

Yes, all Travelcards are valid on all TfL bus services, including those that go out of the zones completely (e.g to Slough or Bluewater) regardless of zones.
