Vauxhall has a fair bit of capacity although I think it's not possible to use until March.
If you are referring to Great Yarmouth I thought that scheme was dead?

Oh yes me too & very much a wilderness it is again to after all the clear up done there. Money seems no object though for storing these units & with the plan slipping who knows, it could figure once again. Be good to see the sidings I spent my youth riding to/from on the 03 pilot return to some form of life.If you are referring to Great Yarmouth I thought that scheme was dead?
Yes pretty much. Been several trips on & off the branch at Wymondham. It's all becoming rather tight. Are the new sidings on the MNR now full too?
Where will the 755s be running on electric power?Right, now I have just popped my cherry by actually travelling on a Stadler in this country. Ironic as I'm supposed to be driving them I am still no nearer stepping into any cab other than the simulator
Impressed is an understatement. They are most certainly the best of all the new trains introduced in the UK In the last couple of years. The only of these I have yet to sample are the 385s North of the border & MK5 Slep vehicles. Acceleration (in diesel mode) was excellent as was the ride & seat comfort. Can't wait to thrash a 3-car in pan-upPIS was very informative too. If I had to make a slight criticism it would be the brightness of interior lighting & the loudness of the door release alarm but these are industry standards & re quirements for PRM. They are almost too good for us East Anglians as we are not normally top of the tree when it comes to new trains. I have to keep pinching myself.
It's going as intensively as is possible but apart from testing the training is a mammoth task too. At Norwich every available driver wishing to work rest days is doing so & still there have been as many as eleven turns uncovered daily with the Shift Traincrew Managers doing a stirling job to keep everything running. People don't realise what's going on behind the scenes. How many miles do the new units need to do for acceptance now 2 are in passenger service?
You'd think with the long ongoing DMU shortage and state of the ones that are still limping along they would try and get some more FLIRTS into service and take the short set and the 15x units out of their misery?
Norwich-Liverpool St, Cambridge-Stansted & when stabled where OHL is available.Where will the 755s be running on electric power?
Limitations on the overheads aparently. North seemed a good location as after Milton neutral but computer says no.And Norwich Cambridge? Why no electric between Ely and Cambridge?
We live in hope. What about Cambridge to Ipswich - I assume electric from Stow to Ipswich?

But this with the Bridge and the weight of a train , I'm not totally familiar with exactly what trains are what in the Stadler fleet , Eg the units that appear to have only four cars
Ahh I forgot the Harwich branch, the rest was encompassed into Norwich-Liverpool St.Also Ipswich / Harwich / Colchester to Stowmarket for Ipswich to Cambridge / Peterborough services
Sounds like a recipe for chaos. Another TOC where every member of train crew needs training on new traction in a short period, with a stupidly optimistic view taken as to how it will be achieved. No service cancellations this end though & there are still next to call drivers with phones on & available for Sunday turnsSounds like a recipe for chaos. Ah fair enough, looking forward to seeing more units about soon.
Sudbury line is planned to only have the 755/3 units operating on it, e.g 3 short carriages and a power unit. That 62 metre long train is as long as it can support without extensive additional infrastructure works and will still be longer than any existing service at a current maximum of 40 metres in length.
Yes, 46.06m per unit.Surely the 156 units are longer than 20 metres, the Marsden book quotes 23.03M for each car.

Good morning from the 06.33 Norwich-Cambridge service. Today the new bi-mode trains are in passenger service for the first time on this route
Excellent news. Does anyone have the rest of this diagram? It seems to go back to the depot at some point so I'm struggling to track it.As tweeted out by GA, 06:33 Norwich to Cambridge this morning is 755410.
