Or they could have just sent it back as its not the right type of unit (im just speculating here)But the RTT link you sent shows Skipton to Allerton.
Perhaps it's just barriers going back for another.

I believe 331 002 (3 car from Allerton) and 331 101 (4 car was at Doncaster) are now at Skipton to commence Aire Valley crew training. But the RTT link you sent shows Skipton to Allerton.

Thanks. Where did it come from.331013 is en-route to Edge Hill.
Thanks. Where did it come from.
Has the last 4 car 331 112 been delivered?
Thanks

Four cars until the platforms are extended for six car trains.
As was mentioned earlier selective door opening is only permissible at intermediate station so we await Leeds Platform zero and possibly Skipton bay. Not sure about Ilkley.I thought this scheme had been deemed uneccessary due to that these are fitted with ASDO.

Its sensible that all the doors should have a platform at the end of a journey.

Ilkley will be fine. Both platforms are in excess of 8x 23 (ie space left over with 2 333s on the same platform).
was this back in the days when they were 3 car unitsTo say at Ikley Ive seen 3, 333's all in one platform. To run 331's as 6 cars during the peak surely they're isn't going to be enough room.

This post doesn't seem to make sense: if you've seen 3 333s in one platform (I'll admit I'm sceptical) then surely it would imply that 2 3-car 331s would also fit.To say at Ikley Ive seen 3, 333's all in one platform. ThanksNot so long since actually, a few months
Even dual occupancy is rare at Ilkley. The triple occupancy you report would be extremely rare, if it is permitted at all outside of an emergency situation. Not so long since actually, a few months ago.
3, 333's = 12 coaches
3 sets of (6 car 331's (During Peaks)) = 18 coaches
When I saw 3, 4 car 333's at Ikely I reckon you could squeeze another 2 cars onto the end before your end of the platform.
My point was that current planning would have to be changed to take into account the longer train lengths, although I don't know for surely if having 3, 4 car 333's in the same platform at Ikley is a regular thing.
Even at night when trains are being parked up?Even dual occupancy is rare at Ilkley. The triple occupancy you report would be extremely rare, if it is permitted at all outside of an emergency situation.
There was a daily duty ( may still be so) where an incoming 333 coupled up to one already in the platform and dragged it pan down to Skipton depot. Note it was a drag as 333s have never been approved or needed to work in multiple.Even dual occupancy is rare at Ilkley. ThanksThere are usually only two units stabled overnight to operate the first services to Bradford and Leeds, as the subsequent services arrive from the same. For the weekday extra peak services there are ECS moves from Skipton.
Plan for the 9th of September: They should appear on the LIV-BPN services
Please note: Everything is changing at the moment so this is subject to change!
I think most of if not all 12, 4 car 331s are going to be on this side for the time being until the platforms get extended on the Airedale/Wharfedale linesIs that 3 or 4 coaches? Would think 3 is too short myself.

Thanks, anyone have any idea how many 3 car units will be on the east side after the swap? Im thinking there will be between 12 and 20 units after the swapCorrect, all twelve will be used on the east side. They will be swapped for three car units at a later date.

ThanksSixteen, IIRC.
Which suggests it should be possible to run a few 6-car formations in the west, until the swap takes place.Sixteen, IIRC.
Would be surprised. I reckon late September/early October. The west side 195s are suffering faults everyday - often at key stations (i.e. Oxford Road) which Northern will get stung financially in the pocket for causing delays. Until these teething problems are ironed out I doubt Northern will want to take risks.Plan for the 9th of September: They should appear on the LIV-BPN services

I can't see 6-car formations between Manchester Airport to Blackpool North with platform capacity at the Airport becoming an increasingly constraining issue. Northern should have ordered more 4 cars and less 3 cars - hindsight's a wonderful thing.Which suggests it should be possible to run a few 6-car formations in the west, until the swap takes place.
