However, it's also very possible Airlink are trying to get rid of the city passengers to free up more space for Airport passengers. At the same time the displaced passengers are suggested to use LCB X17/X18 which could do with some users.

That's a rather insignificant point. Again however i remind you (i'm already assuming this account is yet another dupe) that it's not me who's said BBT appear to have more than CS, but it's people who i know who either live there or have been there recently. I should further repeat what i've already said that based on photos it would appear both BBT and CS can still pull decent loads. But it's not uncommon to see them empty either.

I see full BBT, I see empty BBT ones aswell, I also see Lothian Red and green tour also full and empty.

.......I've only seen three BBT buses, all between 2pm and 4pm and around Lauriston Place/West Port area....all three of them carrying fresh air, only on one of these occasions did i see a City Sightseeing in close proximity, it was carrying a few folks downstairs and upper deck about half full...

This is just an observation, and by no means any scientific study.
That time in the afternoon maybe a "bad" time/quiet time for tours, i dont know...

Agree, i think we need to take in to account the time of day. I suspect the peak for the tours would be up till around 1pm/2pm and then after then it quietens down. Many tourists will have likely already made plans to do something in the afternoon, hence not using the tour.

My general consensus is that BBT have taken some potential CS passengers, however it's nothing extreme, both operators have really busy and also really quiet runs, however there is demand for both services with both being profitable. The fare structure and operating conditions of the services mean they don't require many passengers to break even anyway.

This is my observation. I have seen decent loads on BBT and CS and at other times both have been quite empty.

Overall I think both are doing well.

What a majestic looking vehicle!! I really like that, massive well done to the team that designed that....

..... I saw one of LMC double Deckers going along Calder Road this morning and was thinking that the LMC livery looked really good on a Decker, better than the mish mash of swoops, zigzags and 346774367889999 variations (ok I exaggerate :p) that are going around today....
But 1125 is something rather special!

Funny that the fare rise for local journeys. Won’t be a co-incidence then that At the city routes service change it wasn’t announced Lothian have also subtly cut the frequency every day throughout the day on the 100s too.

They must want to keep journey times down not stopping or potentially stopping for local customers going into and out of Edinburgh and keep capacity for more lucrative Airport customers

Means the Airlink fare from Maybury to Edinburgh matches the Green Arrow Express fare from Ratho Station/Gogarburn/Maybury to Edinburgh, also the frequency hasn't been any better than "every 10 mins or less" so how are they cutting it?

It's currently every 8 minutes offpeak.

That's not a timetable, that's a basic guide to service that advertises "at least every 10 minutes". In reality it's registered to operate on a 7/8 minute frequency during peaks, 8 minutes offpeak, 9 minutes on Saturdays. There are periods where there's a 10 minute frequency (M-F late Afternoon, early morning/evening), however it's a 8 minute frequency right now.

Where is this frequency reduction story coming from? It's still every 8 minutes M-F on the Traveline pdf after 28 July.

Small observation on service 3. I have noticed it has been running with several older vehicles lately.

Using today as an example - there were 8 B7TL's and 2 B9TL's operating on it. The rest mainly coming from it's usual pool of 401-430. It appears that the 33 now operates almost exclusively from this pool meaning the 3 has to use several older vehicles.
