I'm not sure the 321/2s are fully PRM compliant.
They have not been too reliable recently with some dmu substitutions so may be on minimum maintenance.

The Platform 5 books says both the 321s and 322s are PRM compliant.

I was just wondering if the 331's were having the same door closing issues that the class 195's seem to be having?

47815 and 47813 hooked up to 331002 at Allerton, I assume off over the Pennines later.

I hear the cabs are identical apart from a button that says either start/stop or pan up down. I'm guess the computer screen menus etc are different.
Indeed, that was the basis of the contract that both the diesel and electric fleets were as similar as possible. The only other difference in the cab is that the 331s have 'line light' and a couple of MCBs are different.

Certainly the one 331 ride that I have had was having door issues. Was 8 mins late departing Doncaster due to ‘technical issues with the train ‘ and on the return from Leeds, the guard seemed to be having problems getting some doors to work properly. Other than that, was very impressed with the 331.

I think the issue may be teething troubles with the ASDO (auto selective door opening) system. I didn't realise this was used on the Doncaster route but apparently South Emsall has short platforms.
Yesterday was a 331 free day on the line prob teething troubles with the 3 used in passenger service 106/8/10 .
Dont know if any out today.

Does anyone know what this is? It is pathed as a locomotive but I don't recall Allerton having any. I'm also not sure why something would be going all the way from Allerton to Skipton unless it's a depot transfer.

I would guess that it's the 331 that's expected at Skipton to allow crew training to start.

Certainly is, 331002 just arrived in Leeds
So I take it that we are getting a mix of 3 car and 4 car units then

One of the reasons why they are phasing the new Civity units into service is to solve these teething issues before other units enter service. The other reasons are not enough drivers are trained on them, units are still being built and they have to pass X amount of miles in clearance tests before they enter service. (The last one is just my guess)

There are far more differences than that. Northern put out a press release early on in construction where some spokesman with no technical knowledge made the claim that the only difference in the cab was that the engine start button on a 195 was the pan-up/reset button on the 331s.

There are obviously more differences, but in the cab that is more or less it. I've done one training course and now sign both classes.

With three 331s in use occasionally Leeds Doncaster anyone know how near they are with them on the west side.
Have any been accepted yet or has crew training commenced.
