I found a blog writing about GoAhead London operating StreetLites on the 227, a route previously operated by Stagecoach with Citaros. In the middle of the blog, it says that TfL have banned Citaros from being ordered after the batch for Metrobus.
Is this true? If so, why are they banned?

Pity, Citaros are some of the only buses in London that don't feel like they're made of tin foil and about to fall apart on the next pothole.

Perhaps it's better on other bus types, but the only route I use which has stop-start gives a pretty rubbish experience for the passenger.

Maybe the Citaro will be back when if a fully electric model becomes available. There are electric Citaros running in Germany now but in small numbers at the moment. Are they planning a RHD version?
