Surely paths are available between Piccadilly and Stockport on a Sunday? TfW services have been diverted on Sundays via the Mid Cheshire Line several times this year. I accept that there will be a few WCML diversions via Stockport today.

They were planned to be diverted via Northwich and Stockport today but subsequently cancelled at TOC request according to RTT, but reason unknown

If this is a reference to radioactive Potassium-40 in bananas, it makes little difference to the radiation dose received by the individual since the amount of potassium in the body is physiologically controlled. Unless of course the potassium is enriched [or depleted] with respect to K-40.
Does anyone have revised track layout diagram for Acton Grange Junction?

Its exactly the same as it was before, nothing changes. This is not an enhancement job.

There’s been some great engineering traffic through Frodsham already. Was up at 5:30 yesterday morning to catch 66783 sneaking its way through Helsby and Frodsham. Just been back through 15 mins ago on its way to Bescot.

TFW Chester crews work over the route daily, last thing at night and first thing in the morning. Perhaps not all the links are conversant, but these were pre-planned cancellations
What scope would there have been for any enhancement here?

Looking at it again, there seemed to be no intentions of the divertimg via Northwich as it was thought would happen and still being published as so. The cancellations shown are the booked schedules

Not a lot as its constrained where it is, arguably you wouldn't renew it as it is and rationalise it as I doubt you get a lot of parallel movements there. You might have got a bit extra then.

I saw quite a crowd of people getting off a train from Manchester Piccadilly and going over to join Glasgow services at Stockport, doubling back via Manchester Piccadilly. A quick check of NRE confirmed that this was indeed the fastest way from Manchester to Glasgow at the time. I wonder how they felt when they realised!
I have not noticed any attempt at Manchester Piccadilly to prevent people from boarding trains on platform 14.

Tickets were at rock-bottom prices last time because London Euston was closed, and there were no trains north of Lancaster. No such luck now! The diverted train I was on today (1640 from Stockport) was predictably well-loaded for a Sunday afternoon London to Glasgow service.Forum meet anyone? I'm sure the First Class fares will be favourable again

I see from Northern JourneyCheck that two of the Piccadilly - Chester via Northwich diagrams are short formed today (Monday) - 2-car instead of 4-car.
Manchester plus Glasgow passengers . Saturdays are usually quiet on northern WCML , but this meant it was busier.
There was load of staff on p14 on saturday , didnt see anyone jump on though

I can't remember where it was discussed before, but there's a length of rail missing on the curve from the Up Chester to P6 at Crewe.
So P6 can't be reached from the Chester direction until it's fixed.
This is used by the xx56 Up Voyager, and also TfW trains reversing from Chester to Manchester to get onto their Marches diagrams.
I see today that Virgin are using P12 at Crewe to turn the terminating Scotland via Birmingham service during the Acton Grange works.
So all up there is a fair bit of extra congestion at Crewe.
So P6 can't be reached from the Chester direction until it's fixed.

I was on one of the diverted trains yesterday. It was a disaster, 11 car Pendolino packed and standing down the aisles.

Castlefield corridor is a mess. Not a single train running to time at this moment. I've been at Deansgate for the last hour, and what with an engineering train and a freight passing through, plus a pendolino...the infrastructure just isn't set up for so many long trains and it's having a knock on effect. In fact it's better than it might because all TPE services have picked up delays on the ECML.
I do wonder whether the situation could be improved with better signalling or a dedicated signaller to the area. I have seen trains held at Red aspects a lot, and often on approach to Oxford Road where a spare platform was available. There is a real reluctance to run traffic to platform 3, and it seems so much time could be saved if it was properly set up to thread services through at a faster rate.

When I was at Manchester Piccadilly on Monday p.m., they were making repeated announcements telling passengers not to board Euston - Manchester - Glasgow* services at Platform 14. They were also lying by warning passengers that Glasgow - Manchester - Euston services were not stopping at Stockport. (Looking at RTT, they all seemed to have called at Stockport)
* - Some did not run north of Preston due to the "overhead" problems.
