Does anyone know?

James is at Uni, and is planning a tour for Summer 2010 (maybe Spring)![]()
Will it be air-con stock again?
He is likely to use Cargo-D stock, so it is likely to be a yes. Do they have any non-aircons? I am not sure.

Don't ask this. I nearly got hounded off this forum for daring to suggest that tour operators should publicise the type of stock they operate, so that air-con dislikers such as myself can make informed decisions. The level of animosity from certain quarters toward this suggestion was quite unbelievable.
Drimnagh Road said:Glad to hear cargo-D are getting a pressure vent (p/v) coach, as no doubt the likes of Retro and Rail Blue to name a few have lost on potential custom due to not having same on their tours.
Drimnagh Road said:You are quite right 4SRKT in that tour operators should advertise what stock they are using. I refuse in general to travel with Chingfinder in protest at their high prices, but decided to do the Cornish Parker tour on May 16th because 37670 had been returned to traffic and I assumed they'd be using the usual mk1s. Got totally bowled out when I arrived at Crewe to find an ex Virgin mk2f set sat in the platform.
As for front coach supplement? I don't think so, I will plain right refuse to travel on a tour if they charge you to travel in the non a/c coach when the likes of Spitfire have p/v stock as standard.
Only because you ask the same question for EVERY tour you show an interest in, and refuse to accept the reasons that me and several others post when you start throwing your toys out of the pram.
If the stock situation bothers you that much then contact promoters directly, rather than filling up forum threads asking questions and then whingeing if the answer is provided but you don't like it.
Rail-Blue Charters are the trading name for Cargo-D's charter operations.
There's a flaw with your statement about Spitfire and advertising what stock will be on it because sometimes promoters do not know what they get until nearer the time, especially as those who have used WCRC in the past will tell you (rakes of Mk2s and Manchester Pullman FOs vice Mk1s, and seating implications when a Manchester Pullman FO is dropped onto the rake). Sometimes you get what you're given, but if you want specifics be prepared to pay for it.
With the front coach supplement, in my view it's no different to paying Monarch extra money to be able to pick which seat you want to sit in when you fly to Malaga, be it at the front or the back. If you really want a specific seat in a specific coach you can request it, but be prepared to pay for it. Otherwise, take what you are given.
and our next tour will be announced very shortly!
Heard there may be something big and blue at the end of May...

Ill be 100% Defo on this tour like always gunna be great to hopefully have 55022 mainline with 2 working engains![]()
1. Its Engines
2. cant be certain its going to be on 2 engines but heres hoping
not a fan of deltics but I hope James and the rest of the gang at Retro can pull it off, all the best
2. cant be certain its going to be on 2 engines but heres hoping
Everyone who isn't thick, I'd have thought.1. Who cares about the spelling.
2. cant be certain its going to be on 2 engines but heres hoping
But, in reality there's no need for nit picking. On a humorous note, we could always start a poll to see who does care about spelling.
Are there any locos you can be certain of being on a specific number of engines (be it one or two, depending how many they have) in over 3 months time?
FYI, Mr. 37401, we are in the business running railtours that we intend to run, thus, satisfying our customers- not playing trains. If we advertise a loco, we expect it to be that loco FULL STOP.
Once again, I hope to see lot's of you onboard!
