After last year's timetable screw-up, GTR is asking how to spend the £15m fund they've been told to set up. The only restriction is that projects should give "tangible improvements for passengers" and be within GTR's control (so no fixing Greater Anglia or TfL stations, please). My ideas are probably rubbish, so I ask you wise souls to have at it: https://www.passengerbenefitfund.co.uk/

I'm sure the travelling public would be quite happy in paying the £15m to see the back of GTR for good. So my suggestion is that it should be used as an exit fund.

Then you should post that on the ideas site.

I'm sure GTR would be happy to walk away with a 15mil golden handshake but I think 15mil is better spent on the passengers actuality getting something they want, rather than a new franchise (which would take another year, cost a few million and make little, to no difference)

The franchise only has just over two years left to run anyway and the government have got a pretty good deal as Govia's profits are capped and they are actually losing money at present.

My vote is for new seating and removing the ducting from the footwell of the class 700s. Sadly the form only allows ideas relating to stations and not rolling stock though.

Providing more seating at GTR stations in general, in order that the legs and feet may be rested whilst waiting for delayed and overcrowded trains.
Seats are not that expensive, they should be able to provide a good number.

I agree with that, though I'd categorise it under the label of "Things they should be doing anyway". I've never really understood why stations tend to have insufficient seating.

Cleaning the bloody 455 seats would be a start. More stains on them than white carpet in a nightclub. I'd also give £7.5m to the Southern operation just to axe half of the tedious OTT on-board announcements. You don't need reminding the train is terminating at London Bridge three times between each station.

My vote is for improving the station toilets at East Croydon; enlarging them, making them more accessible and more regular cleaning

I was going to say you could blow the whole budget on East Croydon toilets and they'd revert to being an eyesore within a week!
