Hello
Does anyone have knowledge of anywhere I can get detailed information about the location of engineering works in my area?

Ideally I'd like to know the type of work and where it is taking place.

I have recollection of someone once posting a link to someone's personal website which had all of the info on, I think also had link to the below...

I've got information like the following
Worksite: Lewes 49M 46CH- 13m 25CH
But I've got no idea what 49M to 13M means, and if it means what I think it means ( over 30 miles of possession) I've got no idea where the ballast replacement work is. Any help much appreciated.

I've got the below link but it says nothing about the 1am ballast which arrives at Lewes Sunday morning thanks

I am confident that there is a change of mileage between the two!
49m46ch measured from London Bridge via Plumpton
13m25ch from Brighton, because that's the older route.
Without digging out a Trackmap I can't be more exact, but Lewes station to beyond Glynde (or short of Newhaven?) would about cover it, and NR from my family's experience are good at notifying people living by the affected bit of line.

Thanks for the info, I'll have a look around at the weekend.

You need the Engineering Access Statement, its on the NR website in the information for operators section. It won't tell you about the engineering trains as they won't exist when the document is published. The real detail is in the Weekly Operating Notice (WON) or the Possession Planning System (PPS), neither of which is in the public domain (the WON might sneak out).
