If you're talking about local rags ignoring facts and banging on about bus industry issues with inaccurate facts and fantasies then that perfectly sums up pretty much anything published by DC Thomson/Aberdeen Journals!

As far as the Evening News seem to be concerned anything Lothian Buses do is good, while nobody else does anything good.

The way they wrote when Lothian expanded LCB with West Lothian was like Lothian we’re bringing salvation to West Lothian. Meanwhile, anytime First put up fares is like they are stealing directly from people’s pockets.

I live in Stoke On Trent and when First change timetables and fares "The Sentinel" give them bad publicity and the local comment badly like "the council should kick them out "or "loose there contract " and I have given up of replying to comments and when explaning they still don't understand
Do other operators have the same issue with their local rag ?

They all do it, I’ve read before the paper in Bristol is particularly bad.

They all run dramatic headlines like “Major shake up on town’s bus services” and then when you actually find out the details, it’ll be a few routes seeing very minor timing adjustments.

You've reminded me of this...

"Concern over ‘lack of information’ ahead of major shake-up to Aberdeen bus routes"
Despite this being well over 2 months before the changes were planned to go ahead!

The title of this thread actually made me think of the various shuttle buses operated by Cobra of Isleworth for Sky TV in West London (Osterley HQ to the local rail and tube stations). A different interpretation of 'media and local operators'!
