I thought I would offer up these photos as a bit of blast from the past....I cant believe I was driving this old girl all over the North West 6yrs ago!

Makes you think why they haven't put an allover livery onto a solo at morecambe like they did with the 709's 40422 was the adult college and 40424/7 both had adverts for a morecambe based window company.
22721 in the bodyshop for repaint prep,21007 on back-fence withdrawn and 14195 MIGHT be the first 14XXX to be withdrawn after its M.O.T tomorrow.

It would appear that LL's T reg mini darts have been given a short stay of execution as they are still knocking about in Workington, but they are expected to be withdrawn very soon.

no point withdrawing them if 33169 and 47006 are still off the road with knackered gearboxes!

14254 on Silloth 38 (usually Dart).
34048 on short 685.
33162 on 95.
33076 on 66.
14235 came off 554 and went off to Dalston to do 75A

20965 came in to bus station from something but not sure what.
14206 was sat on layover at bus station, then left on school work being driven by an inspector. noticed the top roller blind has been painted over on it! never seen one painted over before!

saw a J-HFR go towards Carlisle College area.
a long wheelbase bench seated Leyland went towards Brampton area. not sure which one.

40422 was the red liveried one and had a Bright-Tec screen wasnt it? It was accompanied by another 709D No.565 which was in a green adult college livery Im not sure what number it became but I remember 565-567 all hada short spell at Lothian on MacTours service 69

Hold on, if 14195 is having an MOT that means is going to see further service whatever happens to it right?

33169 is a T reg mini dart! It's unlikely to go back into LL's fleet. I'd say the other 2 will be taken out once 47006 goes back O.T.R, there's also talk of another 1 maybe 2 solos? But that could be just speculation.
Other withdrawals include 40028, 42577, 20752, 20753 and a few more but can't remember their ID's.

thought there was only 2 Dart's coming out for now, with the PVR reduction on 22 and cancellation of 30A.
would 42025 be one of the ones being "withdrawn"? (sent back to Carlisle Seasonal Reserve, along with 42577).

As an aside, I was under the impression that it was 14196 that was up for withdrawal, not 14195. Anyway....
Personally I can't see there being much use for the Leylands once NW has finished with them - the only place the J reg might go is SC Western for schoolbus conversion, to replace Volvo Citybuses.

The only Plas-Tech advert liveried buses I remember are 40424 and MetroRider No.450 I dont remember another being done to replace them though/

Lancaster had a few K reg 709Ds with roller blinds such as 623 and 625 (40825) when I started in 2001 which we kept until the wide bodied Sprints came along.

The Last CMS Livery (Cream/Red - Same as WTHT's VRT) would be nice to see a vehicle in in west cumbria... Would look great, but i can't see it ever happening!

What age are the bluebird Solo's we may be getting - what is the reason behind doing the swap, seems strange.

Might be because they reaching or over 10yrs and lancashire county council contracts say buses must be under 10yrs to run there subsided services.
Looking at some bluebird fotopic sites they are 54/55 plates.

Got a picture of 14208 on the 1550 81B, I'll upload it later.

Seems strange to give 20451 a hannover, unless it's not going be be withdrawn this time round. Same for 14196 (although that does need one!)

I hope 14258 heads to Kendal to replace 14248, that would be quite a sensible move.

With regards to Chorley/Preston and the Tridents;
The first 7 numerically (up to 18144 IIRC) have gone/are heading to Barrow for the 6A to replace B10Ms.
The rest are off to Preston for the Coastliner services, sending Volvo Olympians elsewhere.
16325/6 moved to Barrow
16327 is currently "spare" in reserve
16328 at Kendal
16351 broken at Morecambe (supposed to be for Carlisle)
16647 Lillyhall, though ISTR it's intended for elsewhere.
16648 rotted chassis, Morecambe

There's definitely some I've missed off there.
