Can I use a Derbyshire Wayfarer to get to Alton Towers. Probably starting from Chesterfield?

Thank you

Not easily - you can get as far as Uttoxeter by train on a Wayfarer, but it looks like there aren't bus links from there.

There are buses from Stoke to Alton Towers - but that's outside your validity.

Notts & Derby run a daily service from Nottingham and Derby to Alton Towers, but it's not clear if a Wayfarer would be valid - I suspect you'll have to call them to check.

From 18th May there will be a D&G bus link Stafford - Uttoxeter - Alton Towers though its timetable is yet to be established. Again, it won't be possible on one ticket; Wayfarer to Uttoxeter and most likely a single/return from D&G from there.

Special tickets have to be purchased for use on D & G service X41. Even their own passes are not valid. £10 return from Uttoxeter, £12 return from Stafford on the latest timetable (January 2020).

A special return fare is charged on First Potteries 32A service. Again I think even their own passes are not valid, but it might have been a £5 upgrade. The webpage is currently devoid of detail.

There is more news on bus services to Alton Towers, but that is all I dare say at present as no registrations appear to have been submitted as yet.

Looking at First website, the 32A isn't running[most likely in hibernation for the Winter], the 32 is now KF, under Kingfisher brand, First own site on network tickets.

Network area Adult Day
Valid on all First buses in The Potteries network including Leek, Stafford, Crewe & Cheadle. (Stoke City FC services and X32 service to/from Stoke-on-Trent station not included).
