LNER seat map for journeys after 18th May 2019

I was looking at journeys in the week commencing Sunday 19th May 2019 (which is the date when the summer timetable is due to start) and found that the LNER seat map is randomly unavailable. For example, on an Aberdeen to London train, the seat map was available for Dundee to London journeys but was not available for Edinburgh to London journeys on the same train. It was also not available for some Edinburgh/London and London/Edinburgh journeys on trains not running north of Edinburgh. Is this just a glitch, or is it the start of the withdrawal of the seat map, or is it connected with the start of the new timetable and/or the introduction of the new Azuma trains?

None of the above, maybe linked to having the last seat in a quota.

Thank you but, having now checked, I can buy multiple tickets at the lowest price for the journeys concerned so it's not obviously a "last seat in a quota" issue.

I regularly find it not offering a seat map in all sorts of random circumstances.

Unfortunately, it's a pretty dismal website with all sorts of other challenges too, possibly only worth persevering with when you want to select a specific seat, use Print at Home ticketing or buy a Super Off Peak single.

So, when the seat map also plays hooky, it loses one of the few reasons left.

Don't see why not, although it makes it a bit more difficult if a 5 car turns up instead of a 10 or a 9 car!

It's been over a year since I was last able to make use of the seat selector. Hopefully LNER will more efficent at keeping it working when the Azumas are online.
