Allocations for services only become available on the actual day (usually early hours of the morning) so we are unable to tell you what is working in the "future"

Oh OK. Sorry! I'll remember to ask again on the day. I've just compiled (what I think is) the list of all of the diagrams that the unit in question will be running using RTT, which is why I asked. According to my list, it will be an IET.

1D13 has been an IET for the whole of last week (that's a far back as I checked) though a different one every day, if you are looking for which type of train is likely to be working a particular service then it is possible to make an educated guess using experience and previous allocations but as for which individual unit then that can only be found out on the day

If it's got a HST timing load, and isn't listed as a HST on the 'remaining HST diagrams' thread, then it'll be an IET

Exactly. I'm using RTT at the moment as I have only recently started recording diagrams when I go trainspotting, so I need to build up a log of diagrams before they are of any use!

Excuse me for being obtuse, but what's a timing load?
It will be an IET because it starts at North Pole IEP Depot.

If you look on RTT, it's where it says 'timed for 125mph max, HST125'

Yes definitely an IET if it starts from North Pole, Stoke Gifford or Swansea Maliphant.

Can I be a pain and ask about 950001?
Does anyone know if it was running today and, if so, what the earliest diagram it ran was? I'm looking to compile the full days' workings for as many units as possible to keep me occupied.

A unit will only work one diagram in a day (unless swapped round by Control). A diagram consists of several workings and will detail what happens to the unit from the time it is mobilised and leaves the depot to it disposal at night, either at a depot or overnight stabling location.

For example, the working you asked about - 1D13 0620 Paddington - Oxford:

That is part of an 800 5 car IET diagram (NP120 on the date you asked about), it leaves North Pole as 5W12 (a 10 car, coupled with the unit working on NP105 Diagram), splits in Paddington and then works 1D13, 1P16, 1W19, 1P29, 1W31, 1P44 before returning ECS to North Pole as 5P44.

As for the timing load: HST 125 does not necessarily mean Class 43, it just means the service is timed for any train capable of doing 125 mph.

As already noted the specific unit allocation won’t be known until that morning when Control upload the information into the relevant IT systems.
