Thanks in advance as always. Is a return from Nuneaton to Birmingham valid via Coventry with a break at International on the outward journey. Looked at the fare rules on national rail and none the wiser. Many thanks.

This should be fine.
Though I’m struggling to find a mapped route via Cov after initially thinking it was ok.

I believe there’s only Anytime Day return tickets available anyway so no restrictions.

Perhaps Nuneaton to Birmingham isn’t valid via Coventry for some farcical reason. But Nuneaton to Birmingham International is valid via Birmingham New Street.

Bedworth to Birmingham Stations is cheaper and valid there and back via Coventry or Nuneaton.

It would allow the OP to travel from Nuneaton to Birmingham and back via Coleshill, but not via Coventry/International or vv. The OP would need to add a single from Nuneaton to Bedworth (or Bedworth to Coventry) to close the gap.

No, as Bedworth passes for both Nuneaton and Coventry Routeing Points.

Yes. I understand the routing allows Bedworth-Birmingham to be via either Coventry/International or Nuneaton/Coleshill.

But with a Bedworth-Birmingham (Any Permitted) ticket, if the OP starts short at Nuneaton he cannot travel via Coventry/International on the outward journey to Birmingham (he would be doubling back to Bedworth). He can return via International/Coventry, but his ticket expires at Bedworth and he needs to get to Nuneaton.

No, as Bedworth passes for both Nuneaton and Coventry Routeing Points.
The Instructions in section A of the Routeing Guoide clearly say no doubling back is allowed .
Each code refers to a map. If a single code is indicated the route is via any route on that map from the first routeing point to the final routeing point without doubling back (passing through the same station twice on a single journey).

If travelling from Nuneaton with a Bedworth - Birmingham ticket it can only be used via Coleshill as otherwise you would be boubling back.

My apologies, I've mixed the geography up.

Easily done. 8-)

Yes @OwlMan. Off-peak, splitting and travelling out and back via Coventry is actually cheaper than the through fare from Nuneaton. Courtesy of CrossCountry pricing of Nuneaton-Birmingham with no Off-Peak fares.
