what's the reason for it not running 28th to 31st Dec? and can anyone tell me if the loco hauled services by FGW run on bank holiday mondays? (just to know come easter time etc). if i'm correctly informed i think arriva's Holyhead train does run on bank holidays

Does this service run once a day, each weekday, or is it on certain days?
I have the times from a previous thread but not sure what days, and of course I assume just once a day?

I might be wrong but I think it's Monday to Friday although don't hold me to that.

It is Monday to Friday. Usually runs Bank Holiday too. But not running now for reasons stated above

I shall endeavour to get some photographs and video of this service, might even take a ride on it myself, it's rare these days; apart from the HST's and few excursions where you can still stick your head out of the window.

I fully recommend a ride out on the stock even if it's 67s, can't beat the comfort of LHCS workings.

I wonder will they change the loco's while over at Eastleigh? I believe 57301 is down there getting major repairs so if that is fixed I wouldn't mind it coming out to play.

....And Nope...
57301 Is still awaiting parts from EMD, so that shall not be around for at least another month...
And the only things happening to 57303/57315/57316/66844 Is a nice wash... Whilst the only things booked for the coaches is a quick once over by Rivera Trains...Yet we all know what rivera trains are like for servicing...
Anyhow, 3x57 + 66844 + LCHS Is booked to leave Eastleigh Today ( Sunday) roughly early this afternoon i belive...And is likely to be heading back to Taunton/Bishops Lydeard...
And shall be back in service tommorow as promised...
If Anything, were quite GM'd at the moment...With 3X57,1X66 &2 X59

Correct sorry...
Having said that, The Stock left eastleigh on satuday - despite being booked for sunday, behind 66844,57303 And 57315, With 57316 leaving monday morning - again earlier than booked, with a spare set of coaches from the DS/Rivera side.

57315 (Taunton end) and 57316 (Cardiff End) on the train at the moment.
I'm assuming the two "dedicated" locos for the service that the rail magazines talk about are 314 & 316, which makes sense as these are in the unbranded livery.
Incidentially, 314 worked the 05:32 Holyhead-Cardiff earlier, while ATW branded 315 is working for FGW, so all we need to happen is to get a swap at Canton if possible.
I got a text earlier saying the Taunton-Cardiff was caped this morning, any gen on this?

Could have sworn 314 is ATW branded and 313 not. Sure was the case on January 22nd 2009...

57 313 was on the WAG today with VT 57 303 'Alan Tracy' and ATW 57 315 on the Tauntons with Intrcity stock. VT 57 312 'The Hood' was stabled at Canton with Anglia stock O.o The taunton was nowhere to be seen at Newport before the delayed departure from Cardiff. Can someone clear up what happend please

Anybody got gen on what locos were operating last week? Also, has the Anglia livered stock returned or still in hands of the Intercity ones? Ta.

Anglia stock back out to play as of yesterday. 57309 and 316 were on the 1102? Taunton to Cardiff at least, scooped 309 yesterday up to Filton and now only need 305 out of the pax 57s to finish the lot

67016 and 17 on the Paignton, all week.

57s are to stop working Cardiff - Taunton by FGW to be replaced by DBS 67's on the 15th Feb. 67 016 & 017, 005 & 006 are at Bristol Barton Hill. 57 314, 311, 305, 316 & 309 are at canton
