I know 16648 is in the prep shed and 16328 is in the big shed at Carlisle (today)

Has the seats been taken out of 16648 for retrimming?

Did a double take today when i saw a Trident with Urban Connect branding on it..

Nearly dropped my kebab when i realised it was actually branded up for the 6/6A Barrow - Ully services..

Anyway turns out it was 18139 branded up and ready for Barrow

As much as i love buses, it looks likely my road in Maryport (Victory Crescent) is going to be a major bus route again for a few days... A Gas main has ruptured under a road in maryport, (don't know the name of the road - but it's the narrow one the 30s have only recently been diverted down! lol)... I don't mind normally, and normally wouldn't grumble... but today, a B10M was reportedly doing well in excess of 40MPH down the road... it is a three lane road, but with cars parked down both sides, so narrow gap in the middle in places with about 1/2 a foot to a foot clearance either side for a bus of such a size in places (not to mention quite a lot of kids about!)

Rush hour and Xmas traffic hit Lancaster hard today with some services running pairs. 18324/28/63 were all running together on the 2/2a heading for Heysham. 18361/80 running together heading for the Uni. I also saw two 4's 2 mins apart heading for the Uni which never happens.

Isn't 16648 coming down to replace 14208 when its done at CE?

You have to look at which routes need L/F's the most, I wasn't a regular on the 47's but I have never seen any wheelchairs use it, as for prams, they can quite easily be folded down, like people had to do not so long back on the old minis. School buses are usually older vehicles, but if a MAN is at LL doing nothing for whatever reason, (had service, MOT, deep clean etc) there is no reason why it can't be used if needed, as it is not always possible to swap L/F's for B10M's during service. At the end of the day it all comes down to availability, and to be honest I think stagecoach are providing a good service given the current circumstances in West Cumbria, but there will always be people who will whinge and moan as you can't please everyone. :roll:

I hope that IF 16648 does come to ME it get the same treatment as the rest of our Olys i.e plate over displays and LED.

Also I agree with what was said about allocations but generally. I moan all the time about a B10 been on the 4 or a Oly been on the 2 but in reality they use what's there and there's usually a reason. Its only when its in the evening ort when they can easily be swapped and their not that's it gets to me haha.

I also saw two 4's 2 mins apart heading for the Uni which never happens.

According to the departure board on the bus station, services 3 & 4 going to the Uni are suppose to run in pairs!

That's interesting lol. They run every 15 mins from Morecambe but every 10 mins from the Uni...

my main reason for bringing it up, is my mate was refused travel on the bus cos she had her 11 month old daughter in the pushchair and had loads of stuff on it. she said she'd take it down, so she did, and he drove off while she was putting it down, forcing her to wait for half an hour for the next one.
it seems to be than an enviro 300 goes onto school work on north of the river in a morning, stays over that side all day just sitting around, then returns to school work for the afternoon run.

Fun and games this morning with the cold weather, doors not opening, heaters not working and to top it off they are resurfacing the road leading to the depot meaning theres a traffic light just outside the gates.

22599 was on annexe for a few hours.

As a driver, i reckon thats out of order, if a passenger is inconvenienced and is prepared and indeed in the process of putting down the pram, then no matter how late i am, i am happy to wait for them to board the bus.. and i speak from experience, B10M's and 109's dont mix!

Also in other news, i saw freshly painted 18138 again today ..... With Urban Connect branding for the 6/6A .... in Preston ... on the 68 ..... ermmm.....

And, a bit off topic, but i got my dates mixed up when booking a holiday next year, as such i had to try and get some authorised absences from my local high school for my eldest, of course they refused, and said if i did take her out, i would be liable to a £50 fixed penalty notice, but i have a right to an appeal.. so i might as well appeal this, but regardless of the outcome, we will be taking the holiday anyway.....

Also a number of Tridents and Loynes have now been painted in Magic Bus livery in Manc meaning some RL's should be moving up here next year apparently. One would assume they will replace a load of Leylands. I have mentioned it before but this is just a little update Or complete rubbish whatever fits lol

We considered that, but apart from the fact i'm never one for lying, which does get me in trouble at times, we couldnt risk the eldests friends keeping thier mouth shut, especially as we had already asked the primary school for permission which they already granted...

anyway, the letter says something about ten days unauthorised abscenses makes you liable for the £50 fixed penalty, and we only need four...

Enough of that anyway, time will eventually reveal all..

As a former Transport Manager, pushchairs were the biggest couse of complaints which i received! One woman once complained that a driver had drove stright pass her, when she was standing at the bus stop with her pushchair. She said in her letter, that the bus had a full-standing load, and already had two pushchairs on it!

Upon checking the ticket machine data, etc, it transpired that the bus was over-loaded.


If as Dave the bus said if he was running late, but had room on his bus he should of still allowed the woman to board. After all the baby is a future customer of the bus companies.

Milnthorpe has a good 4" of snow, with more still falling. I've no idea how services are coping, but there's nothing on the A6 at all....

Services that normally serve the Estate in Carnforth & the Kellets, are terminating in Carnforth town centre.

I am excepting problems tomorrow if this snow keeps up!!!!
