It's amusing these days how people can't seem to do anything or work anything out without an "app". The replys on FiG's Twitter are hillarious, god knows how we managed to catch a bus in the 80s/90s/early 00s before "apps" and "smartphones" were even invented.....
If you can, don't take it personally.
You may have heard someone say in the past "you don't know what's it's like until you do it".
Most drivers put up with doing the job as the decent pay benefits them and there families, I quit my 10 years of Bus driving because most operators treat you like s**t and even when you don't it's an appalling job for a social person, its not always easy to approach a shift with a good attitude, I've now moved on to HGV work, comparing the two jobs is like night and day.
There is a theory shall we say that if you work for First or Stagecoach you are only a number not an employee and person, bottom line.
Drivers are treated s**t, ergo it just reflects on them behind the wheel, chances are they are different people outside of the hell hole.
262 or 213 would be better surely . Was it Blantyre that an these back in the day ?
As for the E4OOS off the 6 , maybe its the case they not treated as priority for 6 no more .
The 262 was a Parkhead run route. It was run by B7Ls, B10Ms and B10BLEs then when the B7RLEs came in it was mainly them and B10Ms.
The 213 was a Cumbernauld route but I’m sure it went to Parkhead shortly before Simplicity was introduced. I always remember the 213 being really unreliable with drivers sometimes missing out the Bargeddie section altogether and turning at the Baillieston lights straight back on to Edinburgh road like the 38E does now. The service has definately improved since Simplicity but it sees every bus type. It even had E500s in the mornings before they went to Aberdeen.
I can see the 6 being upgraded at some point and the E400s being either moved to Caley or used on other Scotstoun routes.
I see , need to look up what a B10M was ha.
I seen a McGills 213 other night , was one of them wee orange vans.
I think 5 hybrid e400s are off the road so Scotstoun ill let you off . Caley i wont , e400s on 4 , 5 and 38 . Few years back and the 6 was e400s mostly but then E300s and Eclipses crept in . Ok a bus is bus and better than no bus but they are low height and intended for the 6.
First cut the 213 back to basically nothing. I think in the end it was only on at night, then they dumped it and SPT picked it up and tendered it out. Henderson Travel used to run it as well but I'm not sure if this was along side First or after they dumped it.
It was the same with the 36. First used to run this very frequently, then cut it back to the bare bones. I'm not even sure if they still run it.
Is the 38c on the 36 route ? As far as Stepps?
The X3 and 38C cover most of what was the old 36. The 38C retains the link from Muirhead to Stepps, Riddrie and Dennistoun. For passengers coming from Cumbernauld and Moodiesburn wanting to travel to Stepps and the east end you would take the X3 or the X37/X39 to Muirhead then the 38C.
The X39 doesn't exist anymore. That got renumbered X36 and goes via the M8 to the Buchanan Bus Station and now omits Moodiesburn.
Just checked that there. Never knew about the X36 and it seems to be a lot like the Stagecoach X25 from Cumbernauld Centre to Glasgow. Also looks as if the number of X37s have doubled to compensate for loosing the X39 in Cumbernauld, Condorrat and Muirhead.
Yes 38c still does Cumbernauld, Once aday?
Seen a E300 on the 60 this evening , one of the few caley ones (Well ex Parkhead ).
Id love to see deckers on the 2 , no reason why not . Extension to airdrie can be a different number eg 262!
Shift the E400s of the 4 , why they on this route?
Not that it's a given, but I highly reckon the Enviro 400 diesels, some B9TLs and Enviro 300s will get some retrofitting done. The talk is the 38 are to get the new stock. Any talk on whats will be retro fitted?
What do you mean retrofitting done ?. And why enviro 400 diesels getting retrofitting and leave Enviro 400 hybrids out ?.Enviro 300 six year old dont need anything done. Not that it's a given, but I highly reckon the Enviro 400 diesels, some B9TLs and Enviro 300s will get some retrofitting done.

Euro 6 for 2022 can think of a lot of older buses needed done first so retrofitting is a engine emission upgrade then .The Enviro 300s DO need retrofitting as they are currently Euro 5 and the LEZ has a limit of Euro 6.
If you don,t make money you don,t run buses?.The 38C is what used to be the extremley watered down version of the old 36.
IIRC at one point the 36 ran Glasgow to/from Cumbernauld every 15 minutes, at the same time you also had the Midland Bluebird 37 and 39 which ran the same route as far as Moodiesburn Crossroads, both on an hourly frequency(this was before the 37 and 39 were re-routed via the M80). What First have done to the Cumbernauld network is nothing short of shambolic.
Retrofitting, the fitment of a new Euro6 compliant exhaust systemWhat do you mean retrofitting done ?. And why enviro 400 diesels getting retrofitting and leave Enviro 400 hybrids out ?.Enviro 300 six year old dont need anything done.
Retrofitting, the fitment of a new Euro6 compliant exhaust system
Baumot and Eminox are the two biggest players in the UK at the moment, who both have systems for Cummins ISBe 4.5 and 6.7ltr engines, fitment to Volvos 9.3ltr D9B engine and as far back as the Volvos 7.3ltr D7C Euro 3 as well.
Whilst ADL’s 400 Hybrid deckers use the same 4.5ltr engine found in the Enviro 200 single deckers, the hybrid engine map is different to the engines intended for diesel only buses, I’m not positive if Eminox or Baumot have a certified exhaust system for the engines used in the hybrids at the moment, but HJS Emission Technologies do, HJS is the company which is fitting Londons 400 Hybrids, but the scale on which HJS are doing these retrofits is on a much smaller scale than Baumot or Eminox are doing with diesels.
Retrofitting would vastly speed up the compliance rates, but First, McGills or Stagecoach are for sure sceptically waiting to see what funding will be made available to them over the course of the next couple of years, for example, The Baumot BNOX-6 exhaust cost approx £15000 per bus, on my last count First Glasgow had roughly 160 Enviro 300s, maybe more, Im not saying all of these would need retrofitted but if they did, based on 160 vehicles it would cost about £2.5-£3m just to do the singles, never mind the Volvos, 400 Diesels or any of the Euro3 B7RLEs.

I don't think McGill's or Stagecoach have got much that come into the City Centre that'll need to be retrofitted. The E300 and E400s that Stagecoach have got the X19, X25/A and X28 are already E6.
The 64, 66, and 67 plate Citaros that McGill's have got are E6 as well. The E200s that they have for the 26, are only E5 even though they have been covered up with LC (Low Carbon) stickers.
It's First that need to start pulling their finger out and get the ball rolling in getting older stock retrofitted.
If you don,t make money you don,t run buses?.
On the topic of those E300s they're one of a kind! The only Euro 6 Enviro300s built! In all fairness First are by far the biggest operator, so regardless it was always going to be tougher for them to get the fleet compliant.
I'm certain ADL have done E6 E300s in the past, going back as far as 2013. Stagecoach Merseyside have got 63 plated E6 E300s I'm sure.
Nope those are just Euro 5. The big give away is that the Euro 6 examples have a radiator on both sides of the engine bay, and the exhaust is angular rather than a cylinder.
