Hello all!!!
Can someone who has already restored model train units give a few pointers/tips/advice/guides as how to restore and get an old/badly maintained model train locos running smoothly?Photos no doubt would be awesome but I'll be grateful even it is only text:D

the only thing I would suggest would be to change the motor but I am not an expert in models (I have never even opened one up) if it was a coach I would change the wheels to newer ones
