There lies, more lies, and statistics.

I just done a pole in the house and 100% are leavers. The referendum was independently counted, and give a lot more votes to leave.
Well it will be good news for you that the three remain votes in these towers have been whittled down to one, due to dad's death earlier this year and mum being unable to vote now through dementia.
However it's unlikey that we will have another vote as May may well be convinced to settle for Norway+ if she can't get her Bad Deal through, so we could well keep some kind of freedom of movement in the end.

Anyone out there got the answer to the following :-
When we had the referendum were the EU citizens working in the UK given a vote?

Surprised you have a Pole in your house.

So Theresa May really says that her faith gives the confidence that she is doing the righf thing? Hope that Donald Trump has that same attitude.

Lots of advice offered on here to remainers with regards to moving to an EU country but I thought we wanted to stop this sort of movement?

We want the wingers to go. Life is to good in the UK, for them to go.
If life is going to be better in the EU, they will be rowing across the North Sea to get there illegally.

Who is "we"? Who are these wingers anyway? Prefer going through mid-field eh?

Here is a thought... you go somewhere else and stop spolling the UK for those of us who want to live here and also want the UK to do well (like we have done within the EU). I am sure the USA will have you... or North Korea

More good news today

The public could be put at risk if the UK leaves the EU in March without an official agreement, the UK's most senior police officer has said.

Met Commissioner Cressida Dick said a no-deal exit would threaten access to EU-wide criminal databases and make it harder to extradite people from abroad.

I thought "control of our borders" was going to make us safer?

Anyone who wishes to live in the EU can still move to, and work in, Eire under the Common Travel Area. After five years or immediately if you have been born on the island of Ireland, you will be eligible for Irish Nationality and EU rights that way.

Just think we will be able to deport the villains. No longer they will entitled to a family life.
Anyone who thinks criminal cooperation will stop is short sighted.
The Met is looking for more money and more excuse for the rise in crime.

Grounds for Deportation of Convicted Criminals UK
A person may be deported if they are not a British Citizen, and have been convicted of a criminal offence.
A foreign national can also be deported under s3(6) of the Immigration Act 1971 if a criminal court makes a ‘recommendation’ that he or she should be as part of its sentence.
Under section 3(5) (a) of the Immigration Act 1971, a foreign national may also be deported if the Secretary of State has decided that deportation would be beneficial to public good.

Plus if they cant support themselves we have the right to remove anyone (including EU nationals)
In essence, this law says that the longer a migrant lives in the host country the more rights they get and the harder it is to remove them. It allows:
  • 0-3 months when the UK can refuse individuals entry or deport them for public policy, public security and public health reasons
  • 3 months – 5 years when the UK can deport individuals for public policy and public security reasons
  • 5 years – 10 years when the UK can deport individuals for serious reasons of public policy and public security
  • 10 years plus when the UK can deport individuals for imperative reasons of public security
How is leaving the EU going to change this?

It turns out that modern crime requires intelligence to solve than simply erecting stronger borders and alienating our neighbours.
I wonder if we are going to have to make a contribution to the EU systems (Europol) - this is separate to Interpol

I have an Irish passport (and a UK one) so I am fine - But that's not the point I was making.

This is the person in charge of the Metropolitan Police. I trust her to know about policing matters more than any politician. Dismissing it as "project fear" without evidence is not a good show.
Everyone is more of an expert than the people who are experts apparently.

I wouldn't trust her very far. She is most likely exaggerating.

She has been wrong before. Remember Jean Charles de Menezes?
What is your basis for this - what are your qualifications and experience in the area of crime and policing including terrorism ?

If you want to see who is trying to de-stabalise the EU - and the USA...
Hummm I wonder if Russa and the USA have an ulterior motive in all this.
Vladimir Putin has said the UK should not hold a second referendum on Brexit, insisting Theresa May must “fulfil the will of the people”.

Offering public support that the embattled British prime minister could probably do without, Putin said he understood May’s position in “fighting for this Brexit”.

Thats all we need - another geneeral election - Corbyn is a total (name beginning with C)
With just 91 days remaining until Britain formally leaves the European Union, Mr Corbyn also reiterated it is a matter of “when, not if” Labour attempts to force a general election by tabling a motion of no confidence in the government, which he signalled will come in the aftermath of Ms May’s deal failing to receive MPs’ backing.

All I need to know is that she should have been finished after 2005; only an establishment stooge could have survived that. Also, the Police in general seem to expect everyone to just do as they say, without question. Rule number one is don't trust the police.
