In an ideal world could some Barking Riverside trains run via Stratford? I expect everyone will say woah , no capacity between Barking and Manor Park junction, but it might relieve the frequency issue on the rest of the Goblin and provide a direct link between Barking and Stratford which sees only a limited C2C service now.

The main problem is capacity between Manor Park Junction and Stratford, where to reverse at Stratford etc.

There is already a thread along these lines here:

Barking and Stratford would be a logical direct rail transport link to provide ... shame it's pretty much operationally infeasible!

Changing at West Ham or Forest Gate/Woodgrange Oark has to suffice instead.

Maybe fantasy land but when (ha!) Crossrail finally opens would there be a possibility of spare capacity allowing some Barking Riverside trains to run through Stratford to Liverpool St? Barking -Stratford direct daily is needed at some point, it's a real gap, and a direct service into London from Barking Riverside as opossed to around the NE London inner suburbs would be a plus for the area wouldn't it?

No chance. Forest Gate Jn couldn’t take it.

Crossrail does not release any capacity on the Electric Lines east of Stratford, those are the ones it will use.

Don't think there's platform capacity to terminate at Stratford from that direction, so would have to continue to Liverpool Street where the situation is probably the same!

Liverpool Street will have capacity post Crossrail although I believe that this is all spoken for already. The space becomes available west of the Crossrail portal while the proposal involves putting Barking trains over a flat junction onto the Crossrail lines east of the portal.

You could reverse Stratford terminators at the former Bow Road GER station but that doesn't solve the capacity issues.

It seems to be a regular thing that people forget that Crossrail is only releasing capacity west of Bow Junction.
