Hi all, just discovered this forum and would just like to say thanks all for all the helpful info. Ive recently passed first phase but was informed by e mail thst due to numbers applying i wouldnt be given dates for phase 2 until 2019.
On Tuesday 20th Nov I then received a further e mail fromn recruitment stating that there was now limited positions open for next week on a first come first served basis. I replied back within 2 hours of e mail, only to be told today ..... too late, spots gone, i will br contacted in due course re. 2019 dates.
I take it this is due to high numbers of applications and demand, and just to be patient and use time wisely for preperation.

Plenty of time to revise then on the plus side but a lengthy wait on the negative. Was there a link to the EMT site in your email with an option to decline or accept the invitation to a date in November?

Finally lol, do you have advice for the dots? How far down the test you get and how many mistakes can you make? Thanks in advance

I don't think there is any advice for people doing the dots. Just do it as quick as possible without making ANY mistakes.

I have sat the dots 3 times and passed every time with enhanced scores. I was consistently about 4 lines from completing each section.

Hi Yellowbelly. No there was no link for any dates, just a direct e mail from HR asking if i could make any of the dates am or pm and if so to reply asap. I replied 3 hours later on reading e mail to ge told i was to late. Contact would later be made re. dates in 2019.

Hi guys, I’m more of a watcher than a poster however those of you who have done the official dots test, how does it compare against the dots test on the GB tool? Are the dots bigger? Using the GBT is like using a Nokia 3310 screen they’re not incredibly clear to see and they appear pixelated..

Don't use the computer program on the actual computer, use it to print sheets off and use those as it's much more like the real thing.

Ah ok thank you, i don’t own a printer but I do pretty good at it lol.. is the dot test not on a computer on the day then? Would prefer to do it on paper to be honest

I practiced on the computer version and it did help me to get better. I couldn't print any sheets off as my printer had broken but on the day I personally found the paper version a LOT easier.

Hi, I passed Stages 1 and 2 earlier this year but failed at stage 3 (DMI). I will be doing Stage 2 again in December though so currently have everything crossed! Good luck with your application

Sorry to hear you failed the 3rd stage but nice to hear you have another chance at 2nd. How come you don’t go straight in at DMI stage again? Thank you for wishing me luck.

I was under the understanding that that was not till the second stage. However, my email has a link for interview tips. I’m not sure.

Don’t worry. Interviews are from Stage 2 onwards.

You get Speed Interviews at Stage 2, Driver Managers Interview at Stage 3 and Multi-Modal Interview at Stage 4 (Your practice material has tips for this particular interview)

Unfortunately I’m pretty confident I’ve messed up on the fourth test with the tones and reading exercise. I miss understood the instructions. I wasent the only one. Three others voiced they had done the same thing! Ah well from what I’ve read I’ve got another crack so hopefully that’ll be along soon.

I was there yesterday mate Thursday 29th yep thought all the tests were hard, fingers crossed for everyone

It’s strange that more than one of us has experienced this. Does this go down as us being incompetent or the assessor not being clear? I noticed a lot of questions being asked throughout the morning. For want of not sounding sore I’m sure the two phonebook examples she gave we’re different!
