22806 and 807 following each other into Lancaster this morning (in order!) on 2 and 2A respectively.

Paul Mcgill was driving the "1520" 55B to Silverdale, though he actually got away at 1527.

Which ever Trident was on the 1620 555 had a very bad rattle - sounded very much like something was in the way of a fan or similar.

Sainsburies bus must have swapped at some point as it was 18382 when I saw it.

Chorley have apparently gained..

16649

NEW Route 4 Chorley - Gt. Knowley

Tendered 124's

Re:bird strikes, only suffered one in my time of about 11 years so far, Urmston, bird, suspected pigeon, flew out from a strut underneath a motorway bridge, only to find my bus doing 30mph in his way... i only heard a thud at the time, it was a couple of girls upstairs who told me what had happened, an apparent thud and when they looked up, feathers flying everywhere..

Had a bird in the car too, damn thing wouldnt move out the middle of the road, so i, as i have done successfully a few times before, aimed the car in a way that the bird would have been missed by going under the middle of the car, trouble is this time i looked in the rear view mirror to see what looked like a massive pillow explosion and yells ringing out from partner and kids akin to 'your tight' .. was i supposed to slam on at 50mph or drive into oncoming traffic in order to miss this bird !?!?

14208 was on the 1610 55A to Kellets, getting away 7mins late at 1617. You must have been around at the same time as me - again!

It swaps over at school time the 1435 ex Sainsburys works onto the 502 Ripley - Cross Cop.
Sainsburys driver travels down to the depot to pick up another bus to work the 1635 off Sainsburys

yeah I noticed that the Sainsbury's bus changed to but made sense because I saw the first decker run from the Uni as the 502.

Whats happened to our Info Bus? 1838# was sitting at the uni when I left ready to be takin back by the conductor.

So is 16649 one of the two Olys Chorley are getting? So rather then 16664/5 going down they are coming from somewhere else?

I saw it passing my house whilst waiting for a bus into town! But yes I'm sure I'll meet you at some point :p

A small diversion in the form of buses not going along Owen Road bus lane on the way into Lancaster tonight due to the substation at the end of our row of houses smoking away-cue attendance from the fire brigade and a powercut for 1 and a half hours! Even the BP garage across the road was affected so I couldn't pop to Spar to pass the time :(
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
From sitting in the library avoiding work () I can tell you:

22804, 22806, 22818, 22822 on the 3/4
17022, 18324 on the 2/2A
20540, 21007 on the X1

16659 did the X3 this morning.

Looked to be big delays coming into town from Carnforth/Torrisholme due to the lights outside the BP garage by our house being out from last nights powercut-traffic was queueing all the way into the distance, I imagine it was causing a fair few delays on the the 3,7,50,55,555, etc!

Actually not, traffic was a lot better than normal, probably due to those drivers on the A6 not letting anyone out from Torrisholme!

555 also negotiated the Triangle a lot quicker - driver just stuck it straight out into the queue!

Haha! Good job I didn't wait for the 3 then! Things now back to normal, just a couple of misallocations, 20540 is actually on the 2 along with 20131-wonder where all the tridents are? 21005 can also be added to the list of buses on the X1!

Things are all going horribly wrong;

Just got in having go the "1420" "555" back (actually departed Lancaster at 1500), but they're not serving Milnthorpe, Heversham or Levens due to Levens Bridge being flooded. As a result, I've just walked from Ackenthwaite while the bus went off to try and get into Kendal the back way.

Most of Kendal is closed due to flooding; 555s aren't going beyond Windermere.

I believe Lancaster are also suffering slightly from flooding.

Forum member cainebj is stuck in Carlisle due to no trains whatsoever, and Cumbrian Coast Rail Replacement Coaches are only running to Maryport due to flooding. I hope he gets back OK, and that Carlisle depot don't get flooded again.

BUT on a positive note, the traffic lights at Skerton are fixed :P

The most of the 555's have been arriving into Kendal upto 30 mins late, from Lancaster.

Due to flash flooding in the central lakes area, all bus services have been subject to short notice diversions or cancellations.

20777 on evening 30's.
47617 in bus station on layover. it was on 51 this morning.
47023 on annexe, with 20919, 20962 and 20763.
20436 on 31.
33169 and 47062 on Harrington & Seaton. been informed another solo was on as well.

33076 on 93 with 34048.
42531 on Brampton 685's.
a Citi Dart in paintshops, still with its route branding for 62 (i think), but the rest was rubbed down.

Kendal's 18355 went down Bridge Street from Sands Centre, and went down to Carlisle depot. i went down for a little nosey and saw it parked up in the "dead lane" in the big shed.

i just had rather unexpected 20977 on the Carlisle to Workington 300, operated by Carlisle depot. the unexpected ride was due to 2 trains being cancelled on me, and being told by staff at Carlisle Bus Station (Virgin Rail staff) that rail replacement coaches were only going as far as Maryport due to flooding between Maryport and Workington. i travelled on that road on 20977 and there was nothing wrong with it. Mbonwick already mentioned be being stranded in Carlisle haha.

various bus services in and around Carlisle have been delayed.

service 600 isn't running the full route due to Cockermouth Main Street being completely flooded. this will also affect X4 and X5 services.
Keswick Bus Station and surrounding area is also flooded.

Keswick is totally isolated - there haven't been ANY services at all since about 10am or something...

Ah yeah, that's right. Was you then. I remember the bus being 18325, just couldn't remember what service.

IIRC you had the forever at stand problem - as soon as you go to close the doors, another person just manages to get on. And another. And another. etc etc.

Cainebj has probably got it about right. Get as many drivers in as possible and get as many buses as possible out to Penrith or somewhere else dry

Gez will probably be able to give us a better answer.

Tonight most of Kendal is under water, the following roads are closed due to flooding
Appleby Road, Ayman Road, New Road, Burneside Road.

Also the A6 between Haversham & Levens is closed, as is the A590 at Ulverston, and the A590/A592 Jct. at Newby Bridge.

One can expect problems in the morning, if this rain keeps up.
