Thematically appropriate thread drift - It's still Scotrail branding, just from a different era. Though I appreciate that this thread is very much for discussion of the current livery, so I'll try not to wallow too deeply in nostalgia.

Ive never understood comments like this - do people really think that companies just stop all their day to day business to focus on rebranding or something?

It is possible to do more than 2 things at once at a railway company - it may not seem like it but its true

Glad I’m not the only one who shares this view.

I get the whole ‘they have more important stuff to be worrying about’ but come on Scotrail as a massive business.

A lot of people like the Scotrail livery and I do to. I just feel the new HST livery would look good on any train and it’s very smart looking.

I'm surprised the Scotrail dot livery is getting such a bad press. I've seen other threads before where people have disliked a livery, and pointed to Scotrail having set the standard for a stylish livery.

Personally I think it's pretty spot on. Doesn't look cheap, bargain, budget, looks pretty coolish. Is recognisable. Does what it's supposed to do.

I don't think it looks bad or dated at all. It is also capable of being evolved subtly where needed. The fact the 156s are still not in the livery yet is amazing!

Most of the 156 units that are still in the First "Barbie" livery are ones that are about to go off lease. The WHL units that are still "Barbie" are waiting in the queue for refurb.
