Hi I’m brand spanking new to the forum. A lot of the lads at work have been left for trainee driver positions. After talking lots about it, I am really considering the change in career myself.

I work in Hertfordshire, so my colleagues have gone to depots round that way but I live in Kettering Northamptonshire.
I’m unsure what depots are local to me that I could get to within the 45mins that most seem to advertise on the trainee driver application.

Basically I’m asking what depots I should keep an eye on for potential future position availability.

Cheers

I believe a lot of the Bedford drivers have been displaced to Luton and st Albans. I was told by Govia I would be based at Cricklewood and I live in Bedford.

Cross country have a driver depot at Leicester but don't recruit trainees. Freight are setting on a lot of trainees but once you're in Leicester depot would be a good aim to have. West Midlands trains at Northampton like someone said. How far is Banbury

Most TOCS allow a hour traveling time to your chosen depot. You can always say you're willing to relocate (If possible) on a covering letter with your applications.
