I like the SRPS rake myself. Nicely kept Mk I FKs (not that I ever sit in these!), plus a few decent TSOs and a solitary Mk II TSO as well.
As a Dublin based lad yourself FlyingScot, how do you rate the RPSI's set of Mk IIs? I was very pleased to see the old NIR Mk IIb grill bar car no. 547 in service and looking very good indeed on the Steam Enterprise this summer. I have good memories of this vehicle in service IRL.
not just steamers that haul them, mine vairies on the traction, if 87002 is hauling it then cargo-d Mk2`s, anything else WCRC Mk1`s
my fave is the WCRC Mk1`s, love the smell of them and the seats
I like the scotsman set as well as "the riviera" set, very smart...
Finished Work Experience With Grand Central and IT WAS AMAZING
P.S.I've even been on a cdr railcar
Was this when they had that museum up at Derry, and you could ride on the CDR car for a few hundred yards along the old GNR alignment? I did this when I was at University in Northern Ireland. I only started keeping a log of all rail journeys from the start of 1991 (my second term there), and as I can't find any record of it in the log, it must have been between September and December 1990.
No,I went on it at this place that went on a straight line along the coast.I think it was fintown.I was 7 at the time but now Im 10 so it wasn't that long ago![]()
Steady on, Ireland's a bit touchy on the subject of encountering youngsters at the moment. Something to do with a religious sect and self preservation I believe. You're 10??? Wow. I've not encountered many railway enthusiasts in Ireland of any age, never mind so young!
