I was quite surprised to see the 05.28 from Hereford had gone back to HST as that was quite a regular IET working a couple of weeks ago. As for the disclaimer I may just add it to my signature block

Never be surprised! There's still time for lots of interesting workings.

In answer to other posts, it's unlikely that there will be any HSTs turning round at Moreton-in-Marsh SX during the North Cots engineering works.

Hi folks i'm looking at doing a Thames and Branches on the 27/10. I shall be travelling from Reading but not sure what HST's maybe about. Can anyone give me any gen on what's most likely to be HST. I do know that Saturdays are very hard to work out what is (SH)IET or not.

It looks like the 0623 from Weston to PAD is HST according to RTT as it comes of St Phillips Marsh.

The large toilets at the end of the train are automatic doors, you have to press a button to close the door and then another button to lock.

The smaller toilets (and they all small, there is no doubt about it) but with efficient design in other carriages have a manual lock

I was across S Wales Mon and Tues and 1B17/1L54 was a HST both days. 0915 PAD-CDF, 1156 CDF-PAD

Those two trains are due to go to IET on 19/11/18, when (hopefully!) 3 IET diagrams get introduced and 3 HST diagrams cease.

If all goes well, all remaining North Cotswolds SX workings will cut over to IET on 10/12/18. To make that happen, two existing SG-SG SX IET diagrams (on the Bristol/South Wales corridor) will temporarily revert to being SPM-SPM from that date.

This takes out all the remaining OOC day/night visits, allowing the depot to close completely.

It wasn't in the HST list that FGW_DID kindly posted for last week which is why I added the comment. I haven't ever seen this train with an IET but I haven't seen it every week so I cannot say with 100% certainty that it has never been booked an IET although formed of nothing at all, especially after Oxford, has been a more frequent outcome.

It's booked to convert LTP on 10/12/18 but there will be odd weeks on the North Cots when workings will fluctuate because of STP requirements.

The next LTP changes are due on 19/11/18 when 1G88 and 1L28 are due to convert but there will be engineering led STP changes from that date so goodness knows what will happen in practice.

I'm planning on a trip starting Crewkerne, to Exeter - Penzance and back, with the intention of riding HSTs to/from Exeter. I've never ridden that line and insist on doing so in a proper train. I don't think they go through Crewkerne do they?

It seems from reading this thread that allocations are variable, so I may have to bite the bullet and buy walk-on tickets. How, on the day, can I find out which trains are HSTs?

Hopefully that should be the CIS information for Exeter St Davids. Anything with 8 coaches should be an HST / 9 or 10 will be an IET.

In the week the 08:45 and 10:11 from Exeter - Penzance are booked IET. Your best bet is the 09:26 which is booked for the short HST set then the 16:00 back (14:05 and 17:42 are back workings of IETs).

Subject to alteration and availablity on the day.

GWR only run through Crewkerne if diverted for Engineering Work or in the case of a closure of the normal route
