Balfour beauty near E.Croydon

Hi, a few months ago i saw a loco at near East croydon, I didnt se what class it was, but why is it there?

I think you mean 'Balfour Beatty' not balfour beauty

If you mean at the north end of platform 1, the sidings there then you wouldn't have seen a loco. This is just used for ballast/tamper machines only. Could you be a bit more specific and try and tell us exactly where as we cant read minds you know! :D

Unless its one of 3 of Balfour Beattys Kirow Cranes you might have seen...BB Rail dont own any locos themselves, apart from the 4 cravens battery electrics, Walter - Lou - Ann - Kitty...all of course built and named for the Waterloo And City line renewal in '06...

Dunno why they'd be there since Croydon's not on any tube lines, neither could they run to Croydon on NR metals...

He possibly means one of the track-tamping machines.
