Some movements both too and from Brush and Neville hill yesterday shown as 158s see http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/Y11027/2018/10/20/advanced.
Also a couple of cancelled 158 paths too and from Kilmarnock.
Anyone in the know as to which units.

I think it actually goes on which leasing company owns the train rather than Arriva Rail North choosing where it's done. Which is why there is so many different locations that refresh and refreshment is happening.

I think prm mods are done by the leasing company with redecorating by Northern.

333001 has had new headlight clusters fitted, they are a different design to the original ones.

I don't like names like that, they seem self-congratulatory and vain like all the "Virgin Whatever" names given to Voyagers. Surely there's a local historical figure or landmark if they need to give the thing a name.

Would be really strange seeing a West Yorkshire Metro unit in the middle of London and also using the London Overground network to reach Ilford!

I like themed names, e.g. the Super Voyagers, even better if there's a little poster inside explaining the name. They could start with the Northern cities, or famous Northerners.

The super Voyager names made sense, being named after great explorers. The ones on the 220s (and many of the 390s) when new were just a Branson vanity trip.

Northern Powerhouse reeks of the same, with an extra whiff of Gideon. Yuck.

One could argue that all the names of the Class 52s were just a Western Region vanity trip...
Some 390 names (e.g. Penny The Pendolino) were godawful, but "Virgin Invader" always made me chuckle.

Indeed - 319362 was then quietly denamed when Arriva reliveried it.

Quite surprised they haven't been repainted into the new Northern livery while they've been down there, especially as they have repainting facilities down there
