Just been on an EM Class 158, which had an area which was first class spec, albeit marked as Standard.

Do EM plan to include first class on these units, or is this just a trial?

No it's 158889, which was formerly with SWT, hence the first class area..

158889 also has the SWT style seats in standard class, which are shallower, more cushioned and have less steeply angled backs than those on the EMT fleet. I actually find them less comfortable than the EMT seats, but it's nice for a change once in a while.

Note to self, remember the number 158889 as I have a feeling I had it the other week on a Robin Hood line service but didn't click and get down the other end for the freebie first!

Original seats, I think. Comfortable but very tight on legroom - if you're tall, you'll only be happy in a table bay *and* with nobody opposite.
