I assume 16877 has been stuck on the back burner waiting for some more attention.

Oly on the return Sainsbury's bus and a MAN on the 6a.

16411 - M311DGP was in preston today still with stagecoach Gloucester names an legal lettering on but has come up via liverpool. 16877 has been dumped on back fence at morecambe.

16411 is for somewhere in Scotland I think.

BTW Paul, I saw you on your way into Lancaster in one of the trainers this lunchtime - I was walking along past Liquid with my head in a chinese as you went past.

17017 on the 6A - I'm sure I heard Gez saying it was in place of something, I'm sure he'll expand further.

18326 out of service at the underpass.

18330 after its breakdown this morning, was working the Sainsbury's bus which was full well over capacity with people standing on both decks.

20795 is in fact running the shuttle between the Uni and town.[/QUOTE]

The last couple of posts are all interlinked, 5 to 8 this mornng the phone was going, usually means only one thing, nobody covering the bus station, so a quick fly across, lucky I sleep in my uniform:lol: to find 20894 sitting on bay 4, doors had failed before due to work the 0815 Kendal driver 2A duplicate, luckily Ripley have finished for half term so the ex K. Lonsdale service was parked, 20795, I gave this to Kendal man which he kept all day.
This left me minus a saloon for the 0845 7 Marsh hence the appearance of the Leyland.
Morecambe fetched 20735 over but didnt match up with 20795 for a change over so it was put onto the 1025 ex Railway Station X1, on which it remained all day.
The other Kendal driver was at the doctors this morning so when he came in they only had 18326 for him. It was on the dupes until 1440 when I managed to swap it with 20894.

This afternoon saw an MAN loose a side window at the top of town, thsi left me needing a saloon for the 1615 4 Combermere, all I had was a Trident, which would have worked the 1638 shuttle, 17017 so this went on the 1626 6A replaceing 47017 which was put onto the number 4

BUS ATTACKED.
Workington.
Vandals smashed the window of a bus as it drove down a street in Seaton.
The Stagecoach bus was driving down Main Road, close to the shopping area, at around 10.30pm on Monday, when an object was thrown at the window. No one inside the bus was injured.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Workington police on 0845 33 00 247.

taken from West Cumbrian News and Star, Wednesday, October 21, 2009.

IIRC, it was 33169 that was on Workington Town Evening Services on monday night.

47005 arrived at Lillyhall this afternoon, unfortunately in the usual condition that vehicles arrive from PRESTON. Apparently it is getting the seats recovered, exterior body work is being repanelled and then going to Carlisle for repaint before going into service. 47006 is due at the end of next week and i would expect it to be in a similar condition.
Does anyone know where these vehicles originally came from as they do not have local registration numbers?
Also the remaining two B7's are being collected from Volvo Bus & Truck in Carlisle on Monday

Are solos for LL then?

Oh good stuff about the B7's look forward to seeing pictures of them in service!!

Saw a Battersby driver smoking in the cab while he was running a public service. Don't know whether its just me but it makes my blood boil. Have nothing against smokers at all but its not professional and not appropriate!

20133 and 20451 on the X1
17020 on the 40.

its also "illegal"! you can't smoke in an enclosed public / work place (bus coming under both of those).

So I've seen.

Traffic must have been bad today in Lancaster, judging by the bunching of services.

Also, rather a lot of buses sat out of service at the bus station tonight:
going from whatever stand it is where all the drivers hang out:
B10M, Trident, Fitters Van, BSG 70 seater, B10B, Trident, Olympian.
I'm assuming the fitters were there to sort 21007 which appeared to have dumped a load of fluid on the floor. 20735 was streching its legs on the 1615 80 to Kirkby Lonsdale, and may have been covering the B10B which also had 80 on its blinds.

Not sure why, but both 18364 and 17023 turned up at the same time, both displaying 55A Kellets for whatever reason. 18364 then went round to the other side of the bus station and sat empty.

Just when you thought it was nearly safe to go back on the street Thurnham St Lancaster will be subject to total closure from 1800 until 0600 all next week, Southbound buses will divert from Common Garden St up Nelson St, East Rd, Wyresdale Rd, Coulston Rd 2/2A thence normal route, 3, 40/42 turn right down Bowerham Rd to the Pointer roundabout thence normal route.
Also the gas works in Warton stike again, we will be unable to serve Waton at all. a shuttle bus willl run at nights /Sundays linking Yealand with Carnforth

Is it gas works in Warton again though? Last I heard was that the road was a total mess after they "fixed" the collapsing sewers.

At least next week the schools are on holiday Gez! How much longer can that work take?!

If you can, the next time you see him smoking. Take a photo of him, and send the photo to Battersby.

Does anybody know where the Travelers Choice solos were sourced from?

MX05 OSD, was new to TLC Travel, West Bowling.
YE52 FGX, was new to Zak's, Birmingham.

Just were they came from, unfortunately, i don't know.

I can see the Fleetwood depot drivers on the 1845, 2045, & 2245 departures on the 89 service, getting lost trying to find there way around this diversion.

The Eastbourne Buses takeover has been unconditionally approved by the CC. This makes PB look a little more promising....

Ok, where to start..

15664 has had legals applied and discs inserted .. (3 more pics added by the way) .. and is ready for launch... Well ready for VF'ing anyway, Anyone in Chorley from Monday would be advised to bring a camera, as its likely to be running up and down the locale whilst the driver familiarisation programme steams ahead ready for Nov 1st .. Although i dont know what plans they have for Nov 1st, its possible they may not officially launch until the 2nd..

18150 is back, freshly painted and minus any sort of 'Stagecoach' stickers.

And some meat on the bones of the Nov 29th service changes..

1/10&11's - Coppull/Chorley Circulars

The Monday - Saturday evening and all day Sunday services have been withdrawn..

Alternatives

1 - Arriva 362 which runs every hour
10&11 - Shanksies

LCC are assessing passenger numbers on the Circulars with a view to a possible subsidy

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

3/3A - Blackrod Circulars

The 06:50 'placer' service has been cancelled and the return service now only starts from Lower Adlington (Castle Drive)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

16 - Euxton Circular

The little used 18:15 Service has been dropped..

Alternatives

18:10 109 Service (Fishwicks) 18:30 109 Service (Stagecoach)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

124 - Blackburn

Confirmation of Transdev (LU) taking over the service and the subsequent route change via the A6 near Chorley Hospital.

LCC are assessing passenger numbers around the Knowley areas with a view to subsidising a service

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

125/6 - Preston/Chorley/Bolton

The timetable change refers to revised timings on the Preston to Bamber Bridge section of the route, this is probably because of the Cinnamon Hill timing point which was introduced during the last timing rehash, which became a severe bone of contention with drivers, passengers, inspectors and even local residents.

No changes to the frequency.

I think thats it..

Just had 20894 on the 2a and its real spacious lol. Its also had a new cash tray fitted. The driver (Kendal) called the depot asking how to get to a certain point in Carnforth. Not sure why he would be going to Carnforth but the member of staff on duty at the underpass gave him directions as well saying it was basically like the 555 from Lancaster.

In the fleetlist what does GM stand for? Sorry if that's a really stupid question lol.

20735 also on the 2a.

I think that the Kendal driver would have ended up on a service that becomes/is a 55/55A hence needing to know how to get to Carnforth.

GM stands for Gillmoss, SC Miseryside's depot.

47617 on 50.
47061 on 51. rear LED still dead.
33168, 34079 and 47023 on Harrington & Seaton.
20134, 20752 and 35246 on 31, with 3 Enviro 300's.

part of 34079's drivers defense screen thingy has been removed. its the part that is over the ticket machine. i presume this is due to the visibility issues that were brought up quite a while after it came to Lillyhall.

47061 broke down whilst on 51. all passengers were sent onto 47617, that i was on, after the driver on 47061 flagged down our driver. 47061 returned to the 51, with a "slight" smell of oil.
it appears that 47061 had a car drive into the side of it whilst it was broken down. when it was sat waiting to be fixed, when all passengers came onto 47617, there was no damage on the side at all. but when it came back onto 51, and ended up running same time as 50, the inspector took it onto the annexe, and started kicking the bottom of the damaged panels to stop sharp parts sticking out. it then went back onto the 51.

They are probably not used to going up towards haws hill in carnforth as the 555 goes back on the A6 towards milnthorpe after calling at carnforth train station.

Not really - 20755 was never actually withdrawn, and the Paladin hasn't actually made it to Barrow I don't think.
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
Traffic in Lancaster was ridiculously bad this evening, so much so that Gez was moving buses from the South side of the Bus Station to the Noth side the wrong way!

618 - is that the Barrow - Windermere service?

Obviously Stagecoach still the cheapest, even with increases for the X35
