Salford crescent to Manchester Piccadilly today

[boyaloud]

Anyone know what's going on with this line today? Seems to be no trains at all? Is it planned engineering? Can't find anything online.

Planned engineering, on the National Rail www site.

[Geeves]

The lines are open but the line through Bolton isn't, meaning the trains that go along the Windsor Link are all cancelled or diverted today

[Trackman]

The Wigan trains are still running

Can't find anything on national rail site today or any day this week.

The Wigan trains are still running

Not to Manchester Piccadilly as the thread title says. Only to Manchester Victoria

This is what I found, but it isn't obvious. You find it if you know what to look for.

That would explain why the early morning airport train i got yesterday went the direct route (with long waits at Stalybridge and Victoria) rather than the normal scenic route for crew route knowledge retention.
