There is nothing wrong with the 150/2s which have been GWRd and have the Chapman seats with tables, they are pleasent enough to travel on all though the amount of legroom in certain seats is questionable. Especially the single seats opposite the toilet. I haven't been on one of the 150/2s with the Ashbourne seats, but have been on the 150/0s and don't find these as comfortable.

Unlike the 158s and 166s which we get most of the time now, they aren't tatty (If it's and unrefurbed 158 that is and have plenty of opening windows. These should be installed into the 158s and 166s for the frequent air con failures. On the other hand, when a 165 turns up with the Air cooling system, this is far better.
The 158s and 166 have always had opening windows for aircon failures. In fact it's rare to see a 166 with all its windows locked shut.

The passenger information screens inside the carriage stated 'Class 158' the last two times that I travelled in a class 153 (connected to a class 150) on the Barnstaple line.
One said “Welcome to First Great Western” when I was on it earlier in the year! What is also interesting about these units is they changed the seating and carpet moquette inside one unit but not the other IIRC. One still has green LM seats and the other has FGW dynamic lines seats but with lime green top grab handles.

I know there are some which can be opened, especially on the 158s when the AC fails and it's full!

No idea. just my experience of them. That said, Turbos are slower off the mark than say 158s - again, not sure why, just personal experience.
Don't they have the same engines (as the majority of 158s)? So if they are indeed slower it could be down to the wider and thus heavier bodyshells?
