Good luck to everyone doing the assessments in Crewe tomorrow!!!
Bloody hell fair play to ya! Stay away from the bar wont yaI'm already at the hotel, 5+ hour journey to get here travelling from Hampshire. Just hope it's worth it lol

No there's about 4 or 5 sets of tones when you're doing the combined. So after set 1 ends, say 8 beeps for example, you have to jot that down. You then have a second or so to carry on with the symbols unimpeded (but need to be vigilant and ready to count from the start of the next set of beeps / not miss any). Then set 2 of tones starts and so onIs it the case that you can search for the symbols, stop and count tones whenever played and then carry on with the symbols or are the tones continuous all the way through the test?

I was too but don't panic it's honestly not too bad. Just comcentrate and you'll be fine. It's just counting ultimately!I cannot describe how much I am dreading this test!
Are you talking about the assessment Centre tests? Or the online ones? Either way, I wouldn’t assume you’ve failed. Sometimes you’ll find you actually performed better than you thought.I have done stage two and I feel I have failed miserably . I had made mistakes even though I knew the right answer. It was due to me not moving the mouse cursor over enough to the right selection.
Is there anyway to become a train driver yourself , or does it have to be done through a company ? I want this job so bad and I even practiced numerous times but it was different to the actual test .I'm really gutted
The online test. Hopefully by some miracle I have passed. If I was to have failed can I apply for another position right away or is there a waiting time? Are you talking about the assessment Centre tests? Or the online ones? How fast are the beeps? I mean is it actually possible to count while working? And are you looking for symbols or symbols and numbers? Any info or tips will help us all out greatlyNo there's about 4 or 5 sets of tones when you're doing the combined. So after set 1 ends, say 8 beeps for example, you have to jot that down. I’d say the beeps are second or two apart but it’s been a while since I sat the assessments. The phone book I can’t remember much about, but believe it’s a certain business type you’re looking for which will appear a few times per sheet. As I keep saying, it’s intense rather than difficult so just keep a clear head (says he, who’s bricking it lol). How fast are the beeps? I mean is it actually possible to count while working? I thought after completing them that I failed....or at best couldn’t call it either way. You might be pleasantly surprised so don’t panick. The online test. Hopefully by some miracle I have passed. If I was to have failed can I apply for another position right away or is there a waiting time?
No idea what youre trying to say in this message mate sorry...Have you already sat these tests slidingdoors? Just wondering if it's going to be searching for symbols / letters whilst listening for the tones or looking up information in a phone directory whilst listening for the tones as it mentions a phone directory in the invite email?
Im going Wednesday at 1300What days is everyone attending the first set of assessments? And those who need to do the dfft only.
Today, Tomorrow. Any next week? I believe some of you are awaiting results from the vse and sjt so won’t have been given a date yet I’d imagine?
Thanks so much... good look by the wayI’d say the beeps are second or two apart but it’s been a while since I sat the assessments. The earliest I’ve seen is people attending today, the latest date I’ve seen posted on this site is the 11th September. During now and then it’s AM and PM sessions so they must be putting a lot of people through. Also some are still waiting on results for SJT and VSE
The person who put the 11th was still stage 1, but if stage 2 is at a different location then they may start getting people through whilst still doing stage 1’s. Is there no chance they can rearrange or is it a straight fail if you can’t attend on the allocated day?I’m on holiday between 4th and 12th September so I’m hoping in the unlikely event I pass tomorrow, stage 2 won’t be until after then!
