Whilst technically allowed with connection time, is there a reason why we’ve waited 2h 3m here at Wilmslow? I mean I know it’s quite a nice area of Manchester, but it does seem a bit excessive!

This is supposed to be pseudo-realistic. Over 2 hours at Wilmslow is not. There are much faster ways to get to Wigan, even Wigan North Western.

Whilst there is a 2258 service for Blackburn, it's not actually formed of the same train we've just arrived on (which instead goes to King Street sidings), otherwise it would be a guaranteed connection despite only being a connection time of three minutes. There doesn't appear to be any more buses around the town at this time of night so we stop off overnight and return to the station the following morning, where we board the 0625 Northern service 2J21 to Moston, arriving there at 0750 on Thursday morning.

What do you mean walk into the station? The tram stop is adjacent to the heavy rail platforms; you're already in the station

Walking 150m to North Western Gardens, we then board the 15:47 Llwe Jones Coachhes service 19 to Cwm Penmachno, arriving at 17:44 Thursday evening.

Sadly that was the last service of the day, so the following morning we board the 0800 Llew Jones Coaches service 19 to Conwy (Railway Station), arriving there at 0928 on Friday morning.
