According to the relivery brief we've had you'll have a long wait!
There are 64 units being done between July and November by Aura graphics at Tyseley and Soho. These being the 26 323s and 23 170s getting a light rebrand and 15 3-car 172/3 get a full rebrand.
What about the 12 2-car 172/2s?

Not mentioned at all. The 64 total doesn't include them either but does include 172339. Maybe the 172/2s will be done alongside the 172/0s. I don't know but seems a bit odd.

From what I have heard...

-Trains that are leaving the franchise will recieve that mini livery, that we saw on that previous 170 train.
-New Trains, and trains remaining with the franchise will recieve the full livery.

I’m quite impressed by the temporary livery effort. All they had to do is put white over the black band underneath the windows then it would be a totally different livery! Because that’s basically the only design elements that hasn’t changed.

Can’t wait to see the new full livery now, but I’m loving the temporary one too.

Must admit it is quite impressive that they're even re-livering the stock which is to go (2020?) with a pretty comprehensive temporary livery.

Presumably the current stickers would have ticked the box per DFT but they've gone one further with a full proper rebrand. Great stuff.

Has anyone managed to see the 323 at Soho?

I thought the 323s were leaving WMT in 2020?

They are ish. WMT must be really serious about the branding as it appears they're applying a full temporary vinyl livery to the 323s and 170s for the short term.

I suppose it could? be a condition of the franchise with the West Midlands Combined Authority that the trains display a full WMR branding as soon as possible?

Its parked outside but not easy to photograph. Just a guess but maybe it'll be out on Sunday on the first bromsgrove train.

323202 now also in the new colours sat where 209 was yesterday. That's not there so it's either in the shed or out somewhere.
209 apparantly did do the afternoon wolves to Walsall diagram yesterday before being swapped out and sent back to Soho

Edit 209 out today should be 8:42 longbridge to Lichfield city next if anyone wants it.

All I saw was 350s on the Wolverhampton to Walsall stopped yesterday (in which both units then made it out on Liverpool to Birminghams).

There's a 15:08 bhm-wvh which is a 323 off Soho as that one from Walsall goes to Liverpool.

Couple of pics from this morning too.20180728_080213.jpg 20180728_080120.jpg

IMO, they could have done a better job on the front of that 323, the grey band looks out of place, and the way the orange stops abruptly isn't very good.

Also, it doesn't seem to have been picked up at the time, but WMT's designer (Sam Jessup) gave a sneak peak of the LNR aventra livery on his twitter earlier this month

Is 209 still out today? I need that one and 206 and would be nice to see them whilst I'm down in Birmingham.

I'm liking the 323 in the new livery. At least they actually cleaned it..

another poor livery im afraid. Time for some standardisation across the country....are at least between sectors/areas. Blue/ Grey on these would be interesting lol

I think new liveries dont mean anything to anyone anymore.....basically the novelty of privatisation has worn off. Passengers especially do not care.

That one isn't the full WMR livery though at least, it's just a temporary cover up for units that are soon to be leaving the franchise. Other units, such as the 172s, will be getting the full orange and purple livery, rather than this one. Besides, I'm sure the orange will look a lot nicer once we have trains without the yellow ends.

I disagree about having standardisation, it's nice to have a variety of liveries across the country, especially when they're ran by different TOCs. If this were British Rail, I'd be inclined to agree, but those days are long gone and I personally can't see them returning soon.
