Season Tickets / Breaking / Short Travel

I'm looking at starting a new job in London soon. I currently near Three Bridges station, in Crawley - but I might be moving to Horsham soon...

Now, the question is would a Season Ticket from Three Bridges to London Terminals (any permitted), be valid from Horsham? The prices seem to indicate no:

TDB - LON: £2816
HRH - LON: £3144

But.... Travel from TBD to LON is valid via Horsham (& Dorking). This is using Maps LB+SL.

The question is can I break my journey and travel short on a season ticket? In essence does it let me get on and off where ever I like, as long as I'm on a 'Permitted Route'?

If so, what are the chances of being able to argue that my when travelling from Horsham to London in the morning, I was infact travelling from London to Three Birdges via Dorking and Horsham (but starting form Horsham), and then from Three Bridges to London? The same sort of thing could be argued in the evening... i.e. I'd be travelling from London to Three Bridges, then straight away travelling from Three Bridges to London (via Horsham and Dorking) bu travelling short to Horsham?

Any thoughts?

A season ticket gives unlimited travel between the stations listed on it and all stations in between. Depending on the routes indicated by the routeing guide and the ticket description, some seasons can be a bit like rovers, allowing travel over a network of lines. As an example, Reading - London Terminals allows use of SWT and FGW routes.

No restrictions at all on break of journey, starting/finishing short or anything of the sort, with season tickets. As long as you are on a permitted route you are fine.

However sometimes the TOCs moan to ATOC who then remove permitted routes in the next editions of the Guide.

Yorkie, is there any consultation before routes are removed? If not, there should be!

This has been discussed at length previously.

ATOC do have various responsibilities with regard to removing permitted routes from the National Routeing Guide. These include acquiring change approval from the DfT and consultation with Passenger Focus and or London Travelwatch.

They do not however have to carry out any public consultation with passengers directly.

My apologies, I have not read every thread on the forum!

I didn't really mean it like that.

I have posted extensive detail on the subject in other threads but have given a minimum of detail in my post above, so I was just trying to get the message across that if you wanted further information you could search prior topics that might hold any answers to questions you may have.

No worries, I apologised for two reasons. Firstly I should have checked by searching before rushing in with a question, as I'm sure people get fed up with the same old things coming up time and again, and secondly because I am very polite!!!
