Well for my trainee course, 3000 applied. And there were 7 only positions.

I applied Dec 2014 and heard back middle of Jan 2015. I started with GA in April 2015. I guess I was exceptionally lucky to get in so quick.

We are desperate for qualifieds and trainees as everyone is buggering off to GN and XC

Is that mainly WA or GE side drivers leaving? I noticed they were advertising for Southend Victoria as a qualified which may appeal to me. Cheers.

Mainly WA at the moment. Unfortunately for GE Drivers are trapped by their location.

They simply can't compete with GTR, MTR and XC and the realisation will hit them when it's too late. Same goes for the depot driving grade.

Can you explain what all this discussion relates to please? What do you mean they can't compete? Sorry to ask but not in the industry so no idea what this all means.

I had 3-4 times for the 27th July and the same for the 6th August.

Indeed, I passed all of the assessments before including the MMI with another TOC, just didn’t get through the DMI.

I just got my rejection email too. I have passed the psychometrics to enhanced level apart from MMI which I haven’t done before. Either my application was deemed too poor or it was because I was a relocator. I suspect the latter
