I am spending 12 days in Apledoorn later this week.

Does anyone know if there are any bus, train or both tickets that cover specific areas? Like a day travel card or a weekly travel card.

Any transport suggestions would be most welcome.

There is a day ticket (dagkaart) covering buses in Gelderland, Overijssel and Flevoland (except town buses in Almere and Lelystad) for 10 euro. Valid after 9 Monday to Friday and anytime weekend.

The town is called Apeldoorn. Voor 16,50 euro 2 adults and 4 children can travel with Syntus, Breng, Arriva en Twents in Gelderland, Overijssel en Flevoland (but not Almere). Weekdays after 9 hours; Saturday and Sunday + July and August also before 9. No train. Not sure about prices for 1 person. You buy it at the busdriver.

You've described the "meermanskaart" version of the single person version that I described above and which costs 10 euros.

https://www.breng.nl/reizen/1190/dagkaart-gelderland-overijssel-flevoland/4704

https://www.syntusgelderland.nl/betalen

suggests that cash is no longer accepted on the bus in that area, but if cash is not accepted you can pay using a bank card, either using contactless or buy entering the PIN.

A summary of day tickets from the different regions of the country can be found here:

https://www.rover.nl/op-reis/binnenland/regionale-dagkaarten

For 39 euros you can get unlimited travel on all trains, buses, trams and metros throughout the country after 9 o'clock with the "Off-Peak Holland Travel Ticket". If you need to travel before 9 on weekdays then you need to pay 55 euros.

There are regular deals for cheap train day tickets in association with various shops and websites. The current one is:

https://www.treinreiziger.nl/ns-dagkaart-actievandedag/

You can pay online using PayPal. You have to give a Dutch postal address but nothing gets posted there.

I can confirm the prices of 10 (1 person) and 16,50 (2). Received a tweet from Syntus.

Most questions have been answered, but I would like to post a link to the local heritage railway (running 1 pair of train (and 2 short workings) on Sundays, 16€ for a rover/whole line return) https://www.stoomtrein.org/rijdagen/groen_zond.html should have the timetable (dutch only, it seems - V. means departure and a. arrival, pay by cash or card or buy online, buffet car provided).

As well as the Veluwse Stoom Trein, the area also has 'Het Loo', a historic royal palace in the woods, the High Veluwe National Park (including a museum of Van Gogh paintings) and excellent walks and cycle rides in the woods to the South of town. And it also has a bizarre sculpture in the forecourt of the station to mark the accession of the King in 2013 (you'll see what it's about when you get there!). The shuttle train to Zutphen is also worth a trip, for a tramway-style experience and Zutphen itself is also quite interesting.

and for just IN town-the single fare from driver is 2 eur, allows changes and even returns till 60 mins. up to 2 zones.
IF you might happen to be 65+, then there is a special senior fare for 1,50, allwoing 60 mins of travel (some sources say its still 90 mins) on ALL syntus-Veluwe buses, thus allowing very cheap BUStrips to f.e. Zwolle, Arnhem, Harderwijk, Ede (via national park Hoge Veluwe). again from 9.00-mo/fr.
Just 3-4 weeks ago drivers still took cash, but this is to be ended soon now-or might have been by now.
For seasons you MUST have a PERSONAL OV-chipcard with foto/name on it and this thus excludes any casual visitor.
PLanning longer trips by only bus (for the daypass) is quite easy if you have some patience and use 9292.nl and set ''further options'' by excluding trains.

Apologies for my misspelling. I have corrected the title.

16,50 euro 2 adults (10 euro for 1 adult) for travel for bus travel in Gelderland, Overijssel and Flevoland (bought on the bus) sounds good, I presume this is one days travel?

The link is very useful, do you know if they do maps with bus routes on?

The unlimited travel for a day is also useful to know about.

We really enjoyed Apeldoorn. We used the local bus, 2 euro for a single ticket, I though it was only valid for 35 mins. My companion was asked if she wanted an over 65 ticket at 1.5 euro on the last day, unfortunately! We paid cash.

We went to Ruurlo to visit friends one day. We were unsure what ticket to buy, NS, Arriva or any. We chose any because we did not know what train we would have to change at Zutphen to or if it was a multiple operator. We paid 20.93 euro for a return, plus the 1 euro for the ticket.

We had a later trip to Zutphen 8.72 euro return.

The trains did not appear to have a guard, just a couple of random chick checks. Fairs appeared to be singles or twice as much for returns.

I was doing some volunteering in Apeldoorn, so I did't do a lot of traveling.

Thanks everyome.
