Edinburgh - Crewe Pendolino v Voyager

Am I right in thinking that one of the Edinburgh - Birmingham services is scheduled for a Pendolino rather than a Voyager? I seem to remember seeing a Pendolino in Waverley in the early afternoon recently. The 1452 maybe?

Hi 45378, for this week only:

06:19 Birmingham to Edinburgh arrives 10:17
10:52 Edinburgh to Birmingham arrives 14:55
08:43 Euston to Edinburgh (Birmingham 10:08-10:20) arrive 14:17
14:52 Edinburgh to Birmingham arrives 18:55

are all Pendolino's vice Super Voyagers.
On Monday 7th September the diagrams go back to being formed of 221's, with the affected Wolves/Brum-Euston services which have been 221's vice 390 over the Summer reverting back to 390's.

If it's a regular diagram it would be good to know which one. With 9 carriages it should be far less crowded than the usual service. Extra AP tickets too perhaps?

Next obvious question... What kind of 1st class catering is provided? Standard Voyager stuff, or the better standard you get on the Pendies...

See my post above - the diagram ends towards the end of the week. (although i'm not sure if it runs Saturday)

The full breakfast Pendolino menu is offered on the Pendolino's substituting Super Voyagers, with the all-day menu being exactly the same, with at-seat service being available north of Preston on the Pendolino substitutes.

Travelled on the 10:20 last week. Despite it being a Pendolino, only the (sub)standard Voyager First Class breakfast was offered, as this and the 06:17 have no chef on board (the chef from Euston gets off at New St). That said, it was a great change to the overcrowded Voyager First, and all 4 carriages in First were well occupied as there were plenty of cheap First AP fares on offer. I travelled on a First Anytime as I wasn't sure what time I was going to travel. Too bad the Pendolino on the Birmingham-Edinburgh via WCML isn't a permanent feature.

I'm very surprised at the lack of chef on your journey, because I've personally travelled on the 06:17 Birmingham N St to Edinburgh and got a full english breakfast north of Preston on my way to Edinburgh and i've also travelled on the 08:43 Euston to Edinburgh via Brum, with breakfast being offered on departure from Euston.

For your 10:20 from Birmingham, breakfast isn't usually offered when it's a 221 according to the timetable, so i would have assumed that the light bites/daytime menu was offered and not the Voyager breakfast which you were offered.
