Wembley post-event return to Central London

Hello,

Mrs TTT and I will be attending a concert at Wembley Stadium on the 17th June - what are our options for getting back to Central London? We're staying in the Hilton Metropole adjacent to Edgware Rd tube station, but we're happy to walk from either Paddington, Baker St or Marylbone if required. I see the last train from Wembley Stadium is 2329 - what options do we have if the concert runs later?

Follow the crowd and head to Wembley Park and get the Met or Jubilee line to Baker Street.

Walk to Wembley Central and get the Bakerloo line to Edgware Road station.

The concert won't overrun. Tens of thousands of Sheeran fans all need to get home!

Check as well closer to the time if you prefer ChilternRail. The often put extras on.

There will likely be a maximum of a 15 minute window on noise regulations so the published curfew to stick to will be strict with the ability to finish the last song of it runs over by a couple of minutes. It also allows for announcements shortly after the concert. They’re generally not permitted to overrun by any significant amount (if they start late you get a shorter show so you shouldn’t have any issues.

Thanks - I always use contactless PAYG in Londinium - although my preference would be Mainline to MYB as I get priv.

My concern was how late the services run, NR and Tube, with it being a Sunday night

Wembley Park has the latest services.

The last Jubilee train on a Sunday is 23:37, and there are later Metropolitan trains to Baker Street at 23:48, 23:56 and 00:11.

Wembley Central is further away and more difficult to get to and its last train is 23:36 to Paddington, so there's not really much point going there to use the Bakerloo instead.

Based on my experience of football , rugby and NFL at Wembley - my advice is to use the Met line from Wembley Park to get to town or north to Harrow on the Hill etc. I'm not sure how many fans are expected ( Ed Sheeran - who ?!?) - but there will be long queues for all the stations. You could be spending at least 20mins waiting to get onto a platform . Crowd management along Wembley Way is well established and usually TfL try to put on more Met line trains whereas the other lines (Chiltern , LO, Bakerloo, LNW/LM*, Southern ) do not add extra walk up services ( or not so many so that I noticed ) - the odd chartered supporter special excluded.
*LM often added an extra Wembley Central stop before events - but not afterwards .

When I've been to events at Wembley I've always stayed in one of the close by hotels.

Saw Fall Out Boy with my wife a few years back and did Chiltern to Wembley, LUL back into central London, very easy, if a bit busy coming back, but certainly a lot less busy than a typical rush hour.

Chiltern have put on additional services in the past, a mix of Wembley Stadium shuttles and stopping most other services to shift the crowds.

If you are not familiar with the route, it might not be wise to walk to Wembley Central at that time of night. It is not a pleasant part of London.

It depends what side of the stadium you're on, really. Use the closest station to get back, either Park or Stadium, depending on where you are. If you're at the back of the queue on Wembley Way you're llooking at an hour before boarding a tube.

Even if you miss all the trains there is the N18 bus that runs all night
