I downloaded Milngavie to Springburn for bve2 (way better framerates than bve4 I am pleased to announce) but the only 314, 318 and 334's I could find are 'passenger view' which are no use? Every time I google for a proper one of those trains every link seems to be dead, forum posts gone, it seems as if anything relating to those trains has been purposely wiped off the Internet.

I'm desperate to drive a 314, 318 and a 334 so if anyone can let me know where to find them (and some good routes) I'd be greatful!

I've never found the former two, but when I had BVE installed I had the 334. I'm sure it was this site, but I think there was also another site which I can't find now...

that was the same site i looked at, with the 'passenger view' train. What exactly is that, anyway? I thought BVE was a train cab simulator only.

it is, but its where you have a passenger view instead of a cab

well, I might just rejig the files a bit then and replace the bitmap of the passenger view with a cab picture.

If anyone has any decent cab view of a 314 let me know... I only have a cab of a 322 and a shoddy one of a 318.

On your website I dont like the idea of rating routes & trains because the developers spend their own time making routes, and they dont have to make these routes. putting a rating on routes is just going to make people think 'oh, my work gets 2/5, whats the point?' What do you do in your spare time? If your doing something for other peoples enjoyment, and you have no reason at all to be doing it, and all you can do is rate it, then why bother? If I thought that your 375 should of only got x then I would have they courtesey to tell you via PM, not broadcast it over the internet

Thanks for the link 313 I downloaded the 314, 318 and 334 and some locos and have been happily playing on BVE :)

As for ratings well they suck altogether, I have a load of Youtube videos that just got one starred by some hater.

Well, I do advise users not to take the ratings too seriously and it is just to help users decide which one may be better, but it is always up to the user to decide what to drive and it is only my opinion when rating. I am and still will use the ratings and use it fairly like on trains, I rate it weather it has;

1. Full Cab
2. Photoreal
3. If you can identify what cab it is with out being told
4. Sound Real
5. If it has animation

Using that rating system for the train say for the class 47 from TSC you would get...

* * * *

Becuase it does not have handle animation

But you should allow the users to make up their own mind. By doing that you might put people off downloading it, whereas if you did something like this

  • Photoreal
  • Easy to identify
  • Good Sounds
  • Full Cab
  • Does not have animation

then they could decide for themselves, and try it out

Meh, can't be arsed doing that... It's weird, I'm an IT tech but I don't touch into anything like that... I don't even use BUILD for Duke Nukem.

Are you talking about openBVE? Because I am damn sure BVE4 doesn't work like that and I have an el-crap-o computer which won't run open BVE.

You can just open the csv file in your favourite editor (vi all the way).

There *was* a 314, many years ago, but only for BVE2 IIRC - I think it's been offline for a while, though.
