Hi I am going with someone to CNM from CTR (Other stations can be alright if cheaper) and I need help with fares I'm open to other methods of travel to make it cheaper but couldn't find anything. Could anyone help me out here I am looking to make the journey on 14th July and coming back on 17th July.

Two Adults
One rail card

Thanks.

That's Cheltenham to Chester for most. Please don't use abbreviations without first defining them.
(I know one can look them up but it's just unnecessary)

Also, do you care about times, and which railcard is it?

Assuming a 16-25 railcard trainsplit suggests a combination for absolute value leaving CNM at 1401 and CTR at 1135 costing £60.50. I'd advise having a look through there as a start.

Note that you need to do two separate searches on Trainsplit; one with the Railcard and one without (this is a limitation of Raileasy's system)

Will the two travellers be making any other journeys together? They could get a Two Together Railcard at £30 for a year.

I and the other person are doing a one off trip so it wouldn't be useful in this case but thank you for posting :)

Note that a Heart of England 3 Days in 7 Rover covers the journey you are interested in (Chester-Cheltenham), and a lot more.
This is £56.90 with a 16-25 railcard, £86.20 without.
After 0900 Mon-Fri, anytime at weekends. Any operator or route on the map.
You would use 2 days of the 3 on your trip, leaving 1 more in the same week when you could travel around the region (eg Oxford, Hereford, Nottingham, Leicester).
