Yes, they’ve been input as auto-call schedules in TRUST so they’ll call (show as ‘active’ on Real Time Trains) 120 minutes before departure. Cancellation is done manually as and when someone notices an overdue report and/or has the time to do it.

All cancelled today as well, according to RTT.

I think for a TOC this is the fastest we have seen trains pressed into service. I think there should certainly be some credit to ScotRail for doing this. Things like this while they seem simple to many on the forum, the modern world dictates that actually it is quite a long and arduous process, which for this appears to have gone quicker!


The branding also looks pretty good in my opinion, simple but does the job.

On the Edinburgh-Glasgow they will be running alongside both the 380s and 170s until the 385s are in service when presumably the 170s will be phased out first.

i imagine the 170's will be reduced to 3 car to allow units to be cascaded? or stored, also will the current 380's possibly run 3 or 6 car for more service coverage? paticuarly on less demanding service

I believe server all of the 170 workings on the Edinburgh & Glasgow have already been reduced to 3-car. As for the 380s I think they are mostly running as 7-car sets on E-Google services; certainly the 365s are to run as permanent 8-car sets.

Wouldn't imagine the former point ever sprung to mind; if the latter point's ruffled a few feathers, I can only apologise. The comment originated from the bagpipe-like drone made by the motors of the 365s as one of them accelerates from a standing start - nothing more than that. Doesn't seem to be any worse than nicknaming the Class 26 & 27 locos "McRats" or the Class 320s "McDusty Bins" simply because they operate(d) north of the border.

Indeed; a subsequent path (5Q07) is then in to take it northwards to Carlisle, which is then followed by a final path (5Q08) to Glasgow Works.

Presumably if they're causing clearance issues, they're not actually needed on the E&G (i.e. platforms are close enough to not need a step).
